LOS ANGELES, CA –Robbie Robertson, The leader of “The Band” has died. He was 80 years old.
The Guitarist– singer-songwriter busted out classic hits such “Up On Cripple Creek.” According to Rolling Stone, The Band lasted eight years after the release of their 1968 debut LP, Music From Big Pink, but during that time they forever changed the pop-culture landscape by releasing brilliant Americana music at the peak of the psychedelic movement.
Their 1976 farewell concert was made into a movie by director Martin Scorcese.
