(Staten Island, NY) — A severed foot was found floating in Great Kills Harbor on Sunday, according to authorities.
The startling discovery was reported by a tugboat worker, prompting an immediate response from the police. A spokeswoman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information (DCPI) said “The foot was found in the water.”
The remains of the human foot was recovered by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in an attempt to identify the individual.
The investigation is still ongoing.
