(New York, NY) –  A new scam is raising questions in New York and New Jersey whether you can trust the “Feds.”

Two men are in custody after posing as FBI agents to rob people in New York and New Jersey.  Police say  back in June the fake feds, ex-cons Tony Clanton and Lawrence Dotson, followed a Staten Island jewelry shop owner home to Edison and flashed a badge trying to get the guy out of the car, but he drove off.

There were numerous  attempted home break-ins and gunpoint robberies in Staten Island and police say, earlier this month, the duo tailed an ice cream shop owner to his home in Brooklyn stealing 67-hundred-bucks.

Dotson, a convicted killer, and Clanton, who did time for drugs and posing as a DEA agent, face 20 years in prison if convicted.
