(New York, NY) – It was business as usual during rush hour in the city that never sleeps, until pieces of a Crane started falling, that is.

Five people are injured as firefighters deal with a partial crane collapse and a fire on 570 10th Avenue, Manhattan.

“You see the debris on the street, this could have been much worse,” Mayor Adams told reporters.

Authorities say two firefighters and four civilians  suffered minor injuries when a large crane caught fire hundreds of feet into the air and collapsed partially onto a building under construction and surrounding streets.

“We’re also fortunate that first responders responded in such a manner and made the right evaluation of how to look at the fire and crisis we were presented with,” concluded Adams.

All nearby buildings have been evacuated. No serious or life threatening injuries have yet been reported.
