(New York, NY) — Ladies and Gentlemen, we got him.
The New York Giants appear to have come to terms with star running back Saquon Barkley. Giants fans across the globe can finally breathe after Big Blue was facing a potential hold out with its 2018 second overall pick.
There’s no question the Penn State Alum is a star— with the Giants, Barkley has rushed 4,249 yards, reaching the end zone 37 times. Number 26 was instrumental in bringing the 4 time Super Bowl winning team to the playoffs for the first time since 2016, rushing for a career high 1,312 yards.
What exactly was the deal?
Sources tell the Daily News it’s a one year deal worth up to eleven-million dollars with a two-million sign up bonus. Barkley received the franchise tag from New York but was unable to agree to a long-term contract before last Monday’s deadline. He was expected to sit out training camp.
With Saquan Barkley back in blue, along with the recent addition of TE Darren Waller, RB James Robinson, WR: Cole Beasley, Parris Campbell and third-round draft pick Jalin Hyatt, Daniel Jones will have more offensive weapons headed into the 2023 season.
