(New York, NY) – Over the weekend, violence unfolded outside the old jail in Harlem where migrants are being housed. Two men were beaten up outside the makeshift shelter by a group of migrants on Sunday, according to police.
Referring to them as a group of “disorderly migrants,” police say the group threw various objects at pedestrians passing by. That’s when two men stepped in, attempting to put a stop to the unusual behavior.
The Migrants reportedly pushed one of the men through an apartment building’s glass door just before 10 AM, when law enforcement say another man was punched and kicked for intervening. He was taken to the hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested just one person and the charges have not yet been disclosed.
