NEW YORK, NY–It was touch and go for a while after a A Delta flight from Milan to JFK landed in Rome on Monday, after the plane hit extreme turbulence.
Investigator’s say the plane was peppered with holes after being hit by hail with 215 passengers on board.
In a statement, Delta says “flight 185 from Milan to New York-JFK diverted to Rome after experiencing an apparent weather-related maintenance issue shortly after departure.
The flight landed safely in Rome where passengers deplaned normally and where maintenance personnel is conducting a thorough evaluation of the aircraft.
The airline issuing an apology to customers.
