(New York, NY) -Get ready to ride city buses for free.
Beginning in September, the MTA will provide free bus service on five routes in New York City.
The Post reporting the six month 50 million dollar pilot program will also monitor ridership numbers on transit lines with high fare evasion.
There will also be a 20 percent increase in subway trains running on the No. 1, No. 6, C, N and R trains during the middays and on weekends. The free bus service is expected to serve nearly 44 thousand daily weekday riders
