Long Island Serial Killings
Gilgo Beach, NY -After 13 years, the investigation into the Long Island Gilgo Beach serial murders is coming to a close with a suspect in custody.
Human remains, mostly young female escort women, have been found along or near Gilgo Beach since 2010.
The first victims were were reported missing in 2007.
59-year-old Rex Heuermann of Massapequa Park is charged with first degree murder in connection with the deaths of three women. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The suspect is a married Manhattan architect. He was arrested Thursday outside his Manhattan office.
Heuermann is being held without bail—his next court appearance is August 1st.
Meantime, the New York Post is reporting Heuermann’s younger brother killed a NYC Housing Authority police captain in a drunken and coked up crash on the Southern State Parkway in 1988, when he was 22.
