(Highland Falls, NY) — A storm parked itself over the Hudson Valley Sunday, flooding homes, washing away roadways and killing a woman in Highland Falls. A woman in her mid thirties tried to escape her flooded out house with her dog, only to be swept away by the water outside. Her lifeless body was found a short time later. Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus says firefighters spent Sunday making rescue after rescue of people trapped in cars and homes. Many roads will be shut today. Some streets collapsed amid the flooding.
