Tiffany Fire
(New York, NY) – A transformer fire broke out at an electrical vault near the flagship 5th Avenue Tiffany & Co. store Wednesday morning, causing thick smoke to spill out of the building.
Firefighters responded to the scene and the FDNY later reported that the fire was under control around noon. About 100 people evacuated the building and two people were injured and taken to a hospital.
This fire occurred just two months after the store completed renovations and reopened in April 2023.
