NEW YORK, NY- Airports in the Northeast such as Newark Liberty–La Guardia and JFK are getting slammed with flight delays and cancellations, mainly because of severe weather nationwide. According to FlightAware, over 42-hundred flights were delayed on Tuesday with over 13-hundred-flights canceled nationwide, creating a huge backlog heading into the busy July 4th holiday travel period.  Many passengers have been left stranded at airports. Air carriers are obligated to issue a refund to passengers when a flight is canceled.
