(New York, NY) — City animal rescue shelters say they are at capacity. Kathy Hansen, who is with Animal Care Shelters says New Yorkers continue to return pets post pandemic, others leave off their cats and dogs because they can no longer afford them. She says they are housing animals in every open space, including closets and offices. Hansen is hoping New Yorkers will step up and take in some of the animals.
