Newark Airport, flight, flying
(New York, NY) – Commuting isn’t always easy in the New York City area. Between delayed trains, broken down buses, unending traffic, and unreliable subways, getting to and from work can be a real challenge. But for one 21-year-old intern in Newark, the typical commute is child’s play.
Sophia Celentano, who lives in Charleston, is flying once a week up to the Brick City. Her internship requires her to be in office, in-person, once a week. She lives with her parents.
It costs Celentano $100 for the round trip flight to Newark, where she’s serving as an intern with Oglivy Health. A TikTok video recounting her experience has gone viral. The young woman explains this set up makes the most sense with Manhattan rents at over $3,400 per month. Celentano’s LinkedIn page lists her as a media studies major, at the University of Virginia.
