New Jersey Romance
(New York, NY) – Last week, the headline dominating Tri-state news coverage was the smoky, hazy, choking air following wildfires up in Canada. But cupid’s arrow is firing true in our area as well, it seems. Yes, love is in the air – especially in New Jersey.
A new survey from jewelry company Mark Broumand finds New Jersey is the most romantic state in the entire country. This is based on a study of Google data searches for things like engagement, wedding rings, romantic destinations, and related getaways. Apparently, the entire northeast is pretty romantic. Delaware came in second, New York third, Massachusetts fourth, and Pennsylvania fifth.
It may come as a surprise to the rest of the country, who likes to bash New Jersey as the “armpit” of America, but it turns out it’s more like the nation’s beating and love-filled heart. Whether you’re talking walks along the Jersey Shore, enjoying amazing restaurants statewide, strolling along the Hudson River, or exploring the more rural areas – there’s no shortage of romantic scenes in New Jersey.
In terms of the data analyzed by Mark Broumand, New Jersey searched the term “wedding venues” more than any other – with 9,092 searches per month. “Romantic restaurants” (8,692) and “wedding venues near me” (5,292) rounded out the state’s top three most searched terms.
