ASBURY Park, NJ- Rip currents are making it dangerous for swimmers along the Jersey Shore.
Many swimmers had to be pulled out of the water over the Memorial Day weekend. Joe Bonjaboni is the Beach Safety Supervisor in Asbury Park. He says its one thing when beaches are open seven days a week with lifeguards on duty, but beaches aren’t staffed with lifeguards this early in the season.
He tells 77 WABC what swimmers should do if caught in a rip current.
A 15 year old boy died after getting caught in rough surf in Sandy Hook on Sunday.
