6 hurt in Queens house fire

(New York, NY) — One person is in critical condition, at least five firefighters were hurt battling a blaze in a home in Astoria, Queens early this morning. The flames broke out just before 1 a.m. in the house near 24th Street and 23rd Avenue. A 70-year-old who lives in the home was rushed to Mount Sinai Queens hospital in critical condition.  Five firefighters are being checked out by doctors for minor injuries they suffered battling the flames. No word what ignited the fire.
