Brooklyn, NY (77WABC)-A Brooklyn, NY man is charged in connection with an attempted armed robbery at the A & M jewelry store during which a shot was fired grazing a 24-year-old store employee in the torso.
Police from the 72nd Precinct arrested Joseph Gonzalez, of 946 49th Street the afternoon of Tuesday, February 14, 2023 in Brooklyn without incident.
The 45-year-old is charged with Attempted Murder, Robbery, Burglary, Reckless Endangerment and Criminal Possession of a Weapon according to police.
On Sunday Feb. 5th, 2023 Gonzalez allegedly entered the jewelry store at 4814 5th Avenue, and discharged a firearm while demanding store property inside the location. The individual then fled on foot, southbound on 5th Avenue, toward 49th Street.
Police a 24-year-old store employee sustained a graze wound to the torso as a result of the incident and was removed by EMS to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, in stable condition.
