(New York, NY) – Cops are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that happened this morning in New Jersey. It unfolded around 7:00 AM along Weston Canal Road in Franklin Township. Authorities say 58-year-old Gary Curtis, an ex-PSE&G employee, fatally shot 51-year-old Russel Heller in the parking lot of a PSE&G facility.
Heller, who was employed by PSE&G, was reportedly sitting in his work vehicle at the time. Cops then tracked Curtis to a parking lot in Bridgewater Township, where he reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation is ongoing as to a potential motive but police are calling it an isolated incident.
PSE&G released a statement saying they were heartbroken following Heller’s tragic death. Governor Phil Murphy also commented, decrying gun violence and offering thoughts and prayers for Heller’s family.
