(New York, NY) – A construction worker is seriously hurt and several others have minor injuries following a construction site accident in Woodside, Queens. It was around noon when a steel rebar cage tipped over onto five contractors. The Department of Environmental Protection says the site houses Shaft 17B, which is part of the city’s third water tunnel. It’s not immediately clear what caused the cage to topple over.
