Two men entered the midtown jewelry store at 5:20 pm on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023.
Police say a male suspect displayed a firearm and told the employee that if he didn’t open the display case that he would shoot him while the second suspect, also a male, produced a can of pepper spray.
The first suspect broke open the top of a display case using his handgun and the second man jumped over the counter and removed an unknown quantity of jewelry.
The Ray’s employee and the suspect with the pepper spray became engaged in a physical struggle. Both suspects fled the store on foot with approximately $1,000 in stolen jewelry.
no injuries were reported .
Police say the armed suspect hasĀ a dark complexion and a thin build.Ā He was wearing a black face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, a black backpack with red straps and light gray sweatpants during the heist. After the incident the individual changed his clothing and was last seen wearing a black backpack with red straps, a red hooded sweatshirt, red pants and black sneakers.
The second suspect, with the pepper spray, has a light complexion, a thin build, black hair, facial hair and tattoos on both forearms. During the robbery, police say he was wearing a dark blue backpack, a black face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, light gray pants and black sneakers. After the robbery, the second suspect also changed his clothing and was last seen wearing a dark blue backpack, a black t-shirt, black pants and black sneakers.
