(77WABC) — Twitter on Thursday suspended the accounts of journalists who cover the social media platform and its new owner Elon Musk—for alleged “doxxing”—or publishing private information about an individual including their location without their consent.
Musk tweeted criticize me all you want but sharing his location and that of his family endangers all of them and that is not ok. Musk said the journalists violated the platform’s new policy not to share location information.
Among them reporters suspended are those working for the New York times, Washington post, CNN, Voice of America and other publications. Musk launched a poll asking his 121.6 million followers if he should unsuspend the journalists now or in 7 days.
As of this writing, the “now” option was ahead, 59% to 41%, with over 1.2 million votes.
