Van Driver Shot in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (77WABC)-Police  say a 55-year-old man driving his van Wednesday afternoon northbound on Rochester Avenue near the intersection at Eastern Parkway,  was struck in his chest by a bullet which traveled thru his driver’s side window.

EMS transported the man to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in stable condition.

A preliminary investigation finds  that the driver was shot after a man fired at a group of unknown males.  A  round  traveled  through the driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle, striking him.

The armed individual  fled the location on foot, heading into the Crown Heights and Utica Avenue station.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the male. He is approximately in his 20s, with a dark complexion, thin build and large, black hair. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black bubble jacket with the “The North Face” logo on the front left chest.

Photos depicting the individual, obtained after the incident at the Crown Heights and Utica Avenue station, are attached.
