Judge Rules Against Allowing New Yorkers Vote by Mail over Fears of Covid

NEW YORK -(77 WABC)- State Republicans are cheering after an upstate judge rules against allowing New Yorkers to vote by mail due to fear of COVID-19, saying itsĀ  unconstitutional.

Saratoga County Supreme Court Justice Dianne Freestone, telling local boards of election to discontinueĀ  counting absentee ballots they have in their possession.

Democratic leaders say they will appeal the judge’s decision.
