NEW YORK (77WABC) — Police are searching for a group of men who socked a retired NYPD cop in the back of the head as he walked though Brooklyn Tuesday afternoon.
The 66-year-old was on Brighton Beach Avenue around 1 p.m. when he was clobbered over the head. Police believe the group that attacked him may have done so as part of a “knockout game”.
That’s where players dare others to punch a complete stranger so hard they are knocked unconscious. The victim has swelling to the head, but is expected to be okay.
