NEW YORK (77WABC) — A huge tent city, set to house migrants who crossed the US Southern border has officially opened on Randall’s Island.
The tents can hold up to one thousand people. They are filled with cots and a large dining room.
Migrants who are processed on Randall’s Island will also have a lounge with TVs, ping-pong tables and telephones that are enabled to make international phone calls. Some local stores have offered to hire any migrant who may be looking for a full-time work.
