NEW YORK (77WABC) — The United Bodegas of America is launching a fund to help owners of looted bodegas in New York City.
Spokesperson Fernando Mateo said owners of the JJN Bodega in the Bronx will be the first recipients to receive money from the $50,000 fund.
Owners are eligible for up to $500 of relief assistance. The association said these types of crimes must be punished — calling on authorities to do more.
