New York, NY (77WABC)- A victim of one of three unprovoked stabbings within 8 hours of each other on Thursday has died of his injuries.
The New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance identifying the man seen in the attached surveillance video regarding the fatal assault at the east 176th Street and Jerome Ave. Station. A 38-year-old man was exiting the northbound #4 train when a man with a knife approached. Unprovoked, police say the suspect stabbed the commuter multiple times in his back and chest before fleeing westbound on East 176th Street.
EMS rushed the injured man to St. Barnabas Hospital, where police say he died Friday of injuries sustained in the attack.
Police say the suspect is an adult male with a dark complexion, approximately 5’11” tall, weighing 160 lbs., with a medium build. The man was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black Nike sneakers with a gray logo and carrying a black backpack.
