Guns New York
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York’s attorney general says her office will appeal a federal judge’s ruling that halted key provisions of the state’s new rules on guns.
The judge ordered a temporary hold earlier Thursday over restrictions on where people can carry weapons and a requirement for permit applicants to hand over social media information.
The rules were part of a sweeping gun law that went into effect Sept. 1 and was designed to protect public safety while adhering to a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that invalidated New York’s old system.
