Bernie, my brother from another mother. Never disagreed with you politically and you guys helped me with my suffering loss of my son Brandon.
You’ll be in my prayers and hope we meet someday!
My sincere condolences to Bernie’s wife and children, family and friends, Sid and his family. Loved listening to them every morning and will miss him dearly. “Lord, we are grieving now for someone we loved and cherished.” May Bernie Rest In Peace.
My deepest condolences to Bernie’s family, friends, coworkers and everyone that Bernie”s life has touched. I grew up listening to Bernie on WFAN religiously. There were mornings I could not stop laughing. He made every morning a joy. When media jackals were destroying him over that incident on the Imus show, in true Bernie form he pushed back and continued to push on and fought his way through the noise along with Sid and made it to the top once again. The show was a reflection on his perseverance and unbelievable work ethic. When I was going through my Soviet Style Show trial, Bernie and Sid had my friend on the show to discuss my case and defended me at a time when I could publicly not and had no voice in the arena. The world finally heard the truth of what had happened; and along the way I gained the support of Bernie and Sid who didn’t have to support me. Bernie fought cancer courageously and still came on air to speak to his audience to make us laugh, cry, and bring common sense to rational discussions. That is a testament to the true character of the man. A one in a million old school original common sense New Yorker. Thanks for all of the wonderful memories, thanks for supporting me, and may you Rest In Peace 😇 🙏🏻
Bernie was the real deal and a stand up guy….no bull….god bless your family and also to your good friend Sid. I enjoyed your morning show so much, especially the beat bernie segment, where he really showed what a smart guy he was. He fought the good fight and is now in paradise smiling down on his friends and loved ones…..
I’ve been listening to Bernie & Sid since they started and you feel like family. You make my mornings so much better. I will miss Bernie terribly. Such an incredible talent – so smart, funny and just a good person. My condolences to his family, WABC and Sid. I know it’s going to be tough to move on but I’m sure he’d want the show to continue. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. Rest in peace Bernie.
Thank you for the memories Bernie.
See you at your New radio station.
Condolences to McGuirk family, God bless
💔
Bernie made me love talk radio. Sid I’m sorry for your loss of your brother. Bernie and Sid will live on thru you. ❤️🙏🏻 Oh Captain My Captain with God Speed
I woke to the Imus program for many years and Bernie always made me laugh with his outrageously funny comments and skits. He came across as caring and smart and often offset the cantankerous Imus. I also enjoyed him with Sid and was hoping he could beat his cancer. My heartfelt condolences to his family at home and at WABC. He will be missed by many.
Bernie you will be so missed, not only from your family & all your WABC Radio family but from the hundreds of people whose hearts you touched!
Condolences to all. You are going to much better place.
Will miss hearing your voice, especially "Beat Bernie"!
Thank you!
Grief never ends, but it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It is the price of love.
Bernard truly earned the love of his fellow New Yorkers.
May God welcome him with open arms and comfort and heal his family.
Sincere condolences to the Mccuirk family. Bernie you were the absolute best! We will miss you. RIP my friend.
Bernie you will be so missed, not only from your family & all your WABC Radio family but from the hundreds of people whose hearts you touched!
Condolences to all. You are going to much better place.
Will miss hearing your voice, especially "Beat Bernie"!
Thank you!
I tend to ignore reality, these last months I wished to hear Sid and Bernie together at 6am. Sincere condolences to his family. 64 is way too young. Mornings will never be the same. Sid, I feel for you, this is just so rough. Be strong, you now have an angel by your side.
You were a NY radio institution. Book smarts and common sense + an everyman’s approachability are rare combinations, indeed. I learned something new every day I listened to you and Sid…RIP, you have earned it.
So sorry to hear this sad news today- I feel like we lost a friend. Bernie was a great man, husband, father, friend and patriot. My mornings will never be the same, but I know Sid will do right by Bernie and continue to do the best #1 morning radio show. To Carol and family- my sincere condolences and may wonderful memories stay in your hearts forever.
RIP
Will surely miss your wit and wisdom. Condolences to your family and and your coworkers at the station. God bless you for all you gave
Bernard, the Commander-In-Sleep or as you would say the Inbecile-In-Chief will be in town today and your insults will not greet him.
I usually do not leave such grieving publicly but to your memory is the exception. I feel as if I lost a beloved family member and we never met.
I’ll continue to ride the Lefties in your memory. Marxism just does not work and these sell-out politicians want us down that road. I’ll keep the faith Bernard in your memory!
I’ve been a long-time listener of Bernie & Sid. I will miss his wisdom and humor. Our prayers at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in DuBois Pennsylvania are with Bernie’s family and friends during this difficult time. May God comfort you all and may He receive Bernie into His Heavenly Kingdom, where there is neither sickness, sorrow, nor suffering, but Life everlasting. May Bernie’s memory be eternal!
My heart goes out as well to Lou Ruffino. Bernie and Lou worked behind the scenes for Imus in the morning. It was Don’s brother Fred, who convinced Don to bring them on the air and from that moment on Bernie became a voice among voices in NY. I know Lou and Bernie go back many years and are friends. I didn’t hear Lou’s voice this morning, so my prayers go out for him as well. Stay strong brother.
I just became a listener about 1 1/2 years ago and I never leave comments of this nature but feel compelled in this instance. The perfection that is Bernie and Sid grabbed me in and I will not abandon Sid now that his better half has gone home to God. My deepest condolences go out to his family, his radio brother Sid and all that loved him. I can’t help but think of how Sid is handling this; he is in our thoughts as well. Bernie you will be missed always!
Listening to Bernie each morning on WABC was like visiting each day with a trusted friend. His wisdom, humor, and insightful commentary will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to his beloved family. We have all lost one of the truly great ones.
My husband who has been in and out of rehabs and hospitals has his little portable radion set to 77 wabc on the window of his hospital room. The first show he listens to and loves is Bernie and Sid. I am his wife who also listens to Bernie and Sid. I love the Beat Bernie quiz part of the show. Bernie dies with vast knowledge, humor, the skill to know the truth and tell it to us and kindness towards his listeners. I love the discussion of politics bringing the truth to the American people.
We are very sad.
I thought he would make it. Then when time went on I had a feeling but didn’t face it. Then hearing his passing this morning, I’m devastated. It’s so true, as you get older you start losing things. Who can beat Bernie? God beats Bernie. No more suffering Bernie. Live in paradise my friend
As I started to listen at 6:00 a.m. this morning as I do every day, my heart sunk as Curtis Chad announce Bernie’s passing. I started to cry such big tears. My thoughts and prayers go out the the McCuik family and the WABC family. He will be sorely missed. To you Sid, I know how special and how much you loved Bernie, my heart goes out to you. I started crying when you called in and spoke about him. I will pray for all of you.
Thank you Bernard for enriching my life for so many years.
May you rest in peace and may our Blessed Mother hold your family tightly in her arms. I’ll love you forever. Allyson in Vermont.
Rest In Peace dear Bernie. You will be missed forever but never forgotten. You touched so many lives with joy and laughter. Blessings for your family.
So very sorry to learn of the loss of Bernie! My heart breaks for you all. He was a wonderful person and of course, so smart and talented!
Deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
God bless you Bernie. You will be missed by many. My daughter and I have truly enjoyed your presence in our lives on our morning drive. May you rest in eternal peace and happiness in the splendor of the kingdom of God. God bless your family and may you go with God’s love always.
My condolence to to his wife and children. You will be missed Bernie. You were a awesome human been , a great professional in everything you did. A man of integrity with great values and a great Patriot.! RIP Bernie.
I was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne for three years, and then a Pennsylvania State Trooper for 25 years. So I think I really qualify to be a "real trooper". When I woke up this morning to my usual 77 WABC and heard the news about Bernie I broke down and cried like a baby. I’ve been praying for Bernie and I really thought he’d be back. This is crushing news!! His beliefs and attitudes are pretty much who I am and what this country needs, especially now. RIP Bernie and thanks for being there to always tell it like it really is.
Bernie will not be forgotten. He has become part of so many lives. I knew him from the O’Reilly days, but it was during Covid that he became part of my life – something to get up for in the morning. I will miss his humor, point of view and his old-school, gentlemanly demeanor. I have been praying for him every day, but it was not meant to be.
Heartfelt condolences to Carol, Melanie and Brendan; his love for and pride in all of you always shone through in his understated way. May God help you through this terrible time.
Condolences, too, to Sid and all of the WABC family, who loved and respected Bernie.
Rest in peace, Bernard.
What a loss. Been listening to Bernie since the Imus days and we rarely miss a show. We had always hoped he would get better and come back to the show. The mornings will not be the same.
I’ve been a fan of Bernie McGirk since the early days with Imus and of late the fabulous Bernie and Sid show. I even sent a message to him on his FB page but alas no response. I’m afraid I may have reached out too late in his illness. Bernie, you will be sorely missed. RIP 😔😥
We are deeply saddened by the news of Bernie’s passing. We have beef daily listeners for a long time, streaming the show as we reside on Cape Cod. Our deepest sympathies to the family, friends & the radio station. The world has lost a beautiful man. Heaven is richer. Thanks for the memories Bernie.

Bernie Rest In Peace!
Thank you for decades of humor but most importantly sharing with us your humility, compassion and the heart to speak your mind in a way that touch my heart…it’s a talent that not too many people have but you did. I put you in the class with my icon Rush L as you taught, encouraged and gave hope for those of us eager to succeed through hard work but with low voices or the inability to communicate as you did! You were my voice in this crazy world as you always stood up for our freedom through knowledge of our history of which I am deeply thankful. I will miss beat Bernie segment as I was always amazed with your intelligence and will miss the laughter with you and your buddy Sid during my morning commute.
My deepest condolences to the McGuirk family, Bernie will always be in our hearts!
We never met but I lost a true friend.Rest in Peace.
I have never met Bernie but I somehow felt I knew him well. Over the years I have spent so many hours in my car. During those years Listening to Bernie not only provided so much laughter but he taught me the ins and outs of politics like no other! I was so hoping one day I would turn on my radio and hear his voice. Sadly that was not meant to be🙏I will miss the laughter, I will miss his wonderful point of view🙏Condolences to all who held him near and dear🌺
Mornings will never be the same. Hey Google play 77WABC. Today’s news was heartbreaking. Mornings won’t be the same without you. My sincere condolences to your family. RIP BERNIE. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💔
Heartbreaking. I’ve been a fan / admirer of Bernie since the days of Imus. My sincere condolences to his family. He was a brilliant, hysterically funny class act. 😔
As a long time listener and fan of Bernie my heartfelt condolences go out to his family and his radio family. Rest In Peace…..you were an extremely special man. 🎚❤️🩹💐
Good morning WABC Radio Team. My heartfelt condolences go out to Sid, Lidia, John, and the entire team. I’ve been listening to WABC Radio since mid-2020. I first started listening to Mark Levin on my way to work at the Amazon Warehouse in Carteret. But, I started listening to Bernie & Sid last September when I started driving into work in Staten Island. When I first heard this tag team I was hooked. I have not stopped listening since. Lidia Reports is also awesome. It makes me really sad to find this out this morning. We all knew this might happen, but we didn’t think it would happen today. Sid, my heart goes out to you. May “Bernie & Sid in the Morning” live forever through you. I have only "known" you guys for a year, but I consider you guys my friends, and I feel like I’ve lost a friend :'(. God bless and console the McGuirk family during this difficult time.
Bernie made me laugh and think about politics. I have to give credit to Imus for introducing me to Bernie McGuirk. Bernie made the Imus show great.
I’m going to miss his voice, humor, and superior intelligence.
God bless the McGuirk family. Rest well Mr Bernie McGuirk.
