God Bless you Bernie. I will miss hearing you every morning. I’ve listened to you throughout the years and enjoyed the ride. Your journey is done, rest.
Blessings to your wife, Carol and children.
My 97 year old mother and I are heartbroken hearing that Bernie passed away. We cannot turn on the radio today after hearing this sad news. We generally listen 24/7/365 to WABC 770 NY radio. We hope Sid Rosenberg and the McQuirk family find peace. Rest in knowing that all will be reunited in eternity. Rest In Peace, Bernie.
I’ve been holding my breath over the past several weeks because there has been a deafening silence every morning without Bernie. I knew it wasn’t good, but hearing the news this morning has left me heartbroken. I have followed Bernie throughout his time on IMUS, Fox and now WABC radio. He was one of the nicest, most grounded, intelligent, loving, funny, and kind people on air. He was really smart and always so authentic. He loved his wife Carol and his two kids and my heart goes out to them. God Bless You, Friend. Sending you and yours love and prayers…such an emptiness left behind…
I am so sorry for your family and the world; but I know the angels are jubilant and rushing you to embrace God. Please bring laughter to all our loved ones up there; however all us "earthlings" are left at a loss and crying!!!
For me (an 80 year old widow) I found myself crying when I put 770 on this morning!!! I will miss your knowledge, humor and LOVE for humanity. It was an honor to share and welcome you into my home everyday.
To me, the Imus in the Morning radio program would not have been as good as it was without the talent of Bernie. He was just so naturally funny! I have listened to him forever, and am so sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed. Prayers to all who loved him.
…another Angel in Heaven! We will miss U!
Bernard will be sorely missed. He was classic on Imus and continued to become one of the best in radio.Thank you Bernie.
Rip MC Guirk you will be missed my deepest sympathy to the family and friends your in my prayers
Bernie had a gift of speaking out the truth fighting for America. I woke up daily just to listen to this brilliant man. He will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to his wife, children ,Sid and everyone on WABC radio. I offered my Mass this morning for him. Eternal rest grant to him Dear Lord.
Thanks for all the years of great broadcasting. You will be missed.
Rest In Peace 🙏
As great as Bernard’s accomplishments were in media, I have a feeling that they pale in comparison to his accomplishments as a husband, father and friend.
RIP Bernard and condolences to your family and friends.
What a feeling of emptiness and loss. Listening to Bernie for years and in relation to his diagnosis this outcome didn’t even seem on the board. A straight shooter. Book lover. A seemingly free and unbridled spirit. The DEPTH of this guy was astounding. My condolences to all your families.
As a long time fan of radio, you can’t help but get attached to some of the voices. You hear them in your home, in your car, your television and now even on your phone. The really good ones you get attached to. Like a friend, just hearing their voice makes you just feel better. Even when it’s bad news or hard truths, it always sounds better coming from your friend, even though its a friend you never met. For years I have enjoyed listening to Bernie. He was always the bright spot on the Imus show, a show that grew harder to listen to in the later years. Bernie solo always grabbed my attention. When he joined with Sid they had great chemistry. He never failed to speak the truth and even Sid has realized eventually how right he really was. Rest in Peace Bernie. You will be missed here on earth but so many on the other side will be so happy to see you. In the words of the Cardinal "Good Morning and God Bless".
Been listening to Bernie for years. I”m so sad – I feel like I lost a family member. Deepest condolences to his family. Will miss his voice and humor.
On my daily long commute in NJ i have been listening faithfully to Bernie and Sid show for the last 3 years. The show is informative, funny , uplifiting, and the all around station for listeners especially in the NY/NJ listening audience and around the world.
There will never be another Bernie. When on the radio he oozed a brilliannt intellect, a seasoned radio host, a true New Yorker and most of all a remarkable kind hearted, compassionate, unbiased individual
.
This kindness filled the airways and my oh my, he will be missed. Today when I heard the news I cried like I had known him all my life. Why did I cry so, because that was the presence that Bernie emanated and was able to communicate to his listeners. I only wish I had known him personally, what a honor that would have been.
Bernie to you in heaven, I one day wish to shake your hand and meet you in a place where people can truly be united as one. That was always your passion and now you have it. Your legacy has left a mark on all of your listeners, friends and family which will never end. RIP,
Your devoted WABC listener.
By heart was broken hearing of Bernie passing. He was a gem of a man

He will be missed.
May he Rest In Peace .
Bernie was THE REASON I listened to WABC radio in the morning. He was intelligent, caring, funny, tough, all the qualities you look for in a good person! I ‘ve missed him so all these months and am deeply saddened that he will not return. I turned the show on every Monday, praying for his return. To his family, friends and colleagues my deepest condolences. BERNARD McGUIRK WAS ONE OF A KIND.
Deep condolences. What a man Bernie was! His intellectual strength combined with his finely tuned instincts was such an unusual combination
We will really miss him.

Such sad news. I have loved Bernie for the last three decades. I am completely broken-hearted and devastated this morning. Such a warm and intelligent human being. I always knew he was the brains behind the Imus show. Radio will never be the same. My deepest condolences to those at the radio station, to Sid and Lou that shared the air with him for so long. More importantly to his wife Carol and his son and daughter. The love he had for his family was always visible. I would love to see WABC share a list of Barnard’s favorite songs. They help tell the story of Bernie. RIP Bernard.
I started listening to WABC b/c of my late spouse who always tuned into Imus. I really enjoyed Bernie on that show. Condolences to his family.
You will be missed.
God Bless you Bernie…may you Rest In Peace . Thank you for all the wonderful hours I’ve spent listening to You and Sid.

We send our deepest Condolences to the McGuirk Family. Bernard will be a big loss to Talk Radio and to New York listeners, he was bigger than life itself. He will be missed.
I have listen to Bernie McGuirk almost every day in my car to and from work. He was such a wonderful human being I know he will be missed by many. My most sincere condolences to his family and his radio family. May he rest in peace.
RIP – Bernie
Bernie was a fellow Bronx boy like me who grew up in the projects.
He was the voice of reason and said the things we all wanted to say but was afraid to.
May his family find comfort in his memories and knowing he was loved by all listeners
The world was better place with him
RIP Bernie and maybe he could start a radio show in heaven with Bob Grant!
So sad to hear of Bernie’s passing. Always loved listening to him in the morning on my way to work and missed him so much these past couple of months. May God wrap his loving arms around you, Bernie. God bless your dear family.

My deepest condolences to Bernie’s family. Rest well brother. You’re no longer in pain and having to put up this fight. Wishing the best to the WABC family.
I live in Indiana and have been a fan of Bernie’s for over 25 years. Watched the Imus Show and then continue to listen through the WABC app. It feels like I lost a member of my family. Cancer is an awful disease. Thoughts and prayers to the family and his close friends.
My mornings will never be the same.
My condolences are extended to Bernie’s on air family especially to Sid, and to Bernie’s wife Carol and his children, upon his passing.
I listen every morning, on my internet radio, from Massachusetts.
He will be missed. I respected his intelligence and his personality.
May he rest in peace.
As someone who listened to Bernie with Imus and more recently with his “ brother from another mother “ Sid, it is hard to comprehend that we all will no longer be able to hear his original thoughts on the issues of the day. As a prostate cancer survivor, I like many others had great hopes that Bernie would come through this and be back to his old self. Apparently the good Lord had other plans. Sincerest condolences to his wife Carol and his son, daughter, father and everyone at 77 WABC.
My deepest condolences to the Mcquirk family and friends. I listen to Bernie from his imus days and the Bernie and Sid show. He was a great patriot an human being. He will be greatly missed.
I have listened to Bernie since his days with Imus. During Imus I enjoyed Bernie exponentially more than hearing Imus. There are radio programs that I listen to while going through my week days. “Sid and Bernie” was go to for me every AM.
I feel the same today as I felt when Rush passed.
Bernie’s passing will leave a hole in WABC format in the AM.
God Bless Bernie!
Good Luck Sid!
Lord this stings. Thanks Bernard. Keeping it positive.Much love 💕 to the WABC Family.
Amen.
We love you Bernie! You were one of a kind warrior! Rest in Peace!
I am so sad to hear about Bernie’s passing. I looked forward to listening to him and Sid every morning on my drive to work. Even though I love Sid, it will not be the same without Bernie. He was a pleasure to list to. He had so much knowledge and was very funny. I felt like he was part of my family.
Bernie will be truly missed.
My Condolences to his wife Carol and his children Melanie and Brendon and his Dad.
Rest In Peace Bernie…..
I’ve admired Bernie’s talent and intelligence on both radio and television. Been hoping & praying for Bernie’s recovery and return, even while Sid has done a fine job carrying on solo. But in recent weeks it became clear that he might not return. Although not unexpected, this is a very sad day. My sincere condolences to his family and the WABC family. Huge loss. RIP, Bernard McGuirk… 💜
So sad to hear. My condolences to Bernie’s family, Sid, and everyone who worked at WABC. I’ll miss hearing his voice. No one will ever beat Bernie.

So sorry to hear Bernie lost his battle. Always a straight shooter. I’m saddened that he’s gone, no one in my life will understand how I feel today. I hope there’s a heaven and that he’s there. His honest personality, his hallmark, lives on.

Offering my deepest condolences to Bernie’s family and members of the WABC team over Bernie’s death! I am one of the New Yorkers who retired and left New York for Florida. But despite my relocation I got my WABC app- and continued to listen to the wonderful Bernie and Sid Show. I even call up and got a chance to speak to Bernie on his show.. He will be remembered and missed tremendously.
I have been a fan for many years, I seen you on the boardwalk many times in Long beach.
I went to Hayes, drove a cab and lived in Long Beach. My prayers are with your Family.
