  1. I am a recent listener that came to really enjoy spending my mornings with Bernie and Sid. No doubt Bernie put up a good fight and some may say he lost the fight; but I say he did win the fight and is now enjoying his championship in a better place. RIP

  2. Bernie became part of my life, and happiness for so many years listening to morning radio. I have a hard time bringing words to how much I loved him, and pray that he knows how much everyone did.

  3. Such a tragic loss. First discovered Bernie on Imus while living in New York in 1995-96. Have been a huge fan since. God Bless Bernie, Carol, Brendan & Melanie. Bill O’Reilly put it best: Authenticity. I believe that term can be used to describe the entire WABC family. All morning I’ve been moved by the tributes, comments and outpouring of love. I find myself distraught over Bernie’s passing more so than even some family members. Unfortunately I never had the honor to meet Bernie personally. God Bless Bernie, Sid, Mr & Mrs Catsimitides and the entire WABC family.

  4. Heartbreaking news. His perspective on life was spot on. May his family and the ABC family keep his spirit alive. Mornings won’t be the same.

  5. Bernard was the greatest, listened to him for years when he was on with Imus, he and Sid were outstanding, a true Gem of a person!! He will be missed, just won’t be the same, a radio icon was he. RIP Bernie!!

  6. To the McGuirk family, Carol and your children. Heartfelt condolences. The news of Bernie’s passing hurts. I loved listening to Bernie since the beginning of his career on radio. Besides his humor, his views of our world made sense and his intelligence was conveyed across the air waves with total integrity.

I mentioned Bernie’s passing to my team this morning and the importance of Prostate Cancer awareness. It took my Dad back in 1986 and fortunately my brother has been courageously dealing with it for 12 years.

We love you Bernie – godspeed and god bless you and thank you.

  7. So saddened to hear of the passing of Bernie McGuirk🍀🙏My condolences to his family and the WABC family. I listen to Bernie and Sid every morning. I thought he was so brilliant and funny . A proud Irish American. My husband around the same time was diagnosed with prostate cancer and we closely followed his journey . We were praying he would be able to come through🍀🙏Bernie will be truly missed🍀Rest In Peace🙏

  8. Always looked forward to listening to Bernie’s commentary on issues of the day, and always learned a great deal from him. A truly "down to earth" individual, a genuine "contrarian" in the best sense in that he spoke from the heart and from his good and bad life experiences. There was never any "B.S." with Bernie, and that is to be appreciated in today’s culture where pretense and faux-flattery are omnipresent. His talent on radio and TV were self-evident, and his talent as a husband and father were also well recognized. When all is said and done, I admired Bernie most because he was a fighter, and he fought the good fight of life through his resilience, his faith, and his fortitude. God Bless you, Bernie, and God Bless your family, friends and colleagues at WABC.

  9. Grew up in BX. Same age, took bus his father drove .Fell in love with Bernie listening to Imus I’ve missed and prayed for him since January The world is crying today at his passing Mornings will not be the same for me
Thoughts for his family and Sid

Ps thank you to Katsamtides for all you do

  10. So sorry to hear this sad news. May God hold you in the palm of His hand, Bernie. Prayers to the McGuirk and WABC families. Mornings will never be the same.

  11. When I heard that Bernie had prostate cancer, I started praying for him. As a kidney cancer survivor, I understand how tough it is to go though the cancer treatment process.

I will now start praying for Carol and the kids. 🙏🙏🙏

I’ve been listening to Bernie for over 30 years when Imus was on the radio. He was one of the funniest guys on radio!

We can take comfort in the woods if our Savior Jesus Christ who said:

The Gospel Of Saint John 17:25-27

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

Rest On Eternal Peace Bernard McCurik

    🙏🙏✝️✝️🙏🙏🕊🕊🕊

  12. Bernie was a part of my life listening to him on the radio through the Imus days and then with Sid. He was a treasure to the human race and to his WABC family, his wife and children. He deserves all the love and honor that is pouring out from the WABC family.

Thank you for allowing the fans to comment. Rest in Peace to the Irish Goodfella.

  13. We loved listening to Bernie and Sid every morning- they expressed many of the values and beliefs we also hold. Our thoughts and prayers for Bernie and his family and may he RIP. God Bless☘️

  14. Such a sad morning! I loved Bernie! A scholar and a gentleman! So many years on TV and radio! Will miss his brilliant perspective on all the current events and his sense of humor!!! A true New Yorker (like myself – born in the Bronx). He will be sooo missed. (There will not be another like him!)
My condolences to his lovely family.

  15. Oh Bernie, you were and are a saint among us. I completely and totally felt connected to and in step with you, your wit, your kindness, your razor sharp mind, your humor, your love of family—may the angels accompany you straight into heaven. LOVE, Lucy

  16. I am deeply saddened to hear that Bernie has passed away. My heartfelt condolences to his family and his family at WABC. He was courageous and unflinching in life and I will miss him dearly. He somehow managed to epitomize the tough, gritty and yet loving and compassionate New Yorker, that was a product of his environment in the best possible sense. They ain’t making ‘em like him anymore. Godspeed, brother.

  17. I recognized Bernie’s brilliance back in the late ’80s and when he went on with Sid, I REALLY wanted to call and ask if I could stop by the studio one day just to shake his hand and to tell him just how special he was to me and to the entire listening audience.
I believe that his soul will be placed in a place of honor up Above and may his memories bring nothing but smiles to all that knew him in every which way.

  18. I woke up to Bernie’s wit and humor for so many years and it got me through the toughest of mornings. I will miss him terribly. My heart breaks for his family. Rest in peace

  19. Bernie McGuirk didn’t pull any punches. He was a man of principle, honor, devotion and character. It’s odd that when you wake up every morning for years hearing someone’s voice, you feel like you know them. That was the magic of Bernie McGuirk and his radio/human talent. Man will he be missed! RIP Bernard.

  20. Bernie thank you for keeping me company when i moved to Orlando from Long Island. You and Sid were like my daily cup of coffee in the morning and helped me adjust to my new home. Rest in peace my brother i will miss you tremendously

  21. Mornings in New York will never be the same. You captured in eloquent words and intelligent thoughts what so many of us were feeling and gave a voice to all of us. I only met Bernie once outside 2 Penn – all I did was give him a thumbs up and he was kind enough to come over and chat with me for ten minutes. A true gentleman and a guy thousands of fans would have loved to have a beer with. Rest In Peace Bernie, you were one of the good guys.

  22. Bernie, as we listeners came to know and love him, was an erudite tough guy who didn’t have to show it or crow about it. A true patriot who lived his country and family. With his partner Rosenberg a match made in heaven. Hi low key intelligent delivery was the perfect counterpoint to Rosenberg flamboyant yet lovable style. The "Cardinal " of the radio waves will be missed. Peace be with you Bernie

  23. I am so very sorry to hear about Bernie, I have been listening for a long time and lost my daughter 22 monthsago to cancer. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and everyone at wabc.
    Sincerely,
    Pat doorhy

  24. I’m at a loss as I looked forward to your return. Thank you Bernie for keeping me company in many of my commutes in the morning. A sad day for radio. May you rest in peace Bernie.

  25. Bernie, you were a very intelligent man who left a significant impact on radio and it’s listeners…..RIP my friend!

  26. I met Bernie in 1987. I was so impressed with how he made anyone he met feel important. He was a special man. I will miss not hearing him on the radio. 36. The Bernie and Sid show was introduced to me two years ago. I never listened to talk radio before, it was too boring. But this show completely changed that. I want to thank Bernie for that. He was smart, funny, and taught me more than any of my social studies teachers. He will be missed. Deepest sympathies to Bernie’s family, and Sid.

    SLAINTE!!

  42. I’ve listened to Bernie on Imus, saw him on Fox with Bill O’Reilly or appearances on Sean Hannity. I was always impressed with his political analysis and especially his wit and humor. Of course listening to Bernie & Sid was a must during COVID shutdowns, working from home, they gave us a voice and some hope during some dark times. I want to send my deepest condolences to the McGuirk and WABC families. He set an example as a brave and great man. He will be missed but not forgotten.
