  1. My wife and I will certainly miss Bernie as we try to listen to him every morning.
This passion for a country, has care for people, and his humble presence will be missed. Just seem like a decent patriotic husband and father who was the voice for a country to get back on the right path. Godspeed Bernie

  2. I want to give a big thank you to Bernie and to his family….for all the many hours and years that we enjoyed him and learned from him on the radio. I am not a native New Yorker, but I learned SO much about the culture here from Bernie. He was blessed with an incisive clarity of thought which is pure New York. Not only was his intellect impressive, but his humor was the best, and his heart remained evident in all his work. Thanks for sharing yourself and your talents with us for so long. We were so lucky to ‘know’ you. Rest in peace…

  3. Bernie may you Rest In Peace , you have many people who enjoyed your work and respected you as a Father and husband, may God watch over your children and may your wife keep you in her heart forever!

  11. It is with my deepest condolences to the McGuirk family for their loss. Bernie’s candor and insight will be missed.

    God bless.

  12. Bernie McQuirk was an extraordinarily gifted radio producer and personality who was the KEY to the success of both the Imus in Morning Show and the Bernie and Sid Show. He was so uniquely a New Yorker to the core, an Irishman in his heart, and a fair and rational … and highly informed … conservative thinker with an extremely wide range of topics and subjects on which he was well informed and very articulate. We, and WABC, can never replace a Bernie McQuirk. He was a one-of-a-kind. He should rank with the best ever in the Radio Hall of Fame.

  13. For decades I started my day listening to Bernard. He was humble, passionate, self-deprecating, brilliant and a great patriot who loved New York and the USA. I prayed for Bernard every day since he announced his illness and was crushed to learn of his passing. May Bernard rest in God’s eternal kingdom and may the Lord hold Bernard’s family in the palm of his hand. I love you, Bernie! I’ll miss you dearly.

  17. So miss Bernie, thought he’d overcome it, just can’t believe he’s gone. A great man who was completely self made, they don’t make them like Bernie anymore. Condolences to his family and Sid.

  18. Smart, clever, quick witted, kind, self-efacing, tough and compassionate at the same time. Bernie was ‘gold’! He made me laugh everyday I listened to him. Always kept things in perspective and made himself a force in the political arena. Condolences to his family and the WABC team. There will be no other like him – one of a kind. May ‘The Cardinal’ RIP

  19. May his memory always be a blessing to his family and friends. He was taken far too soon, but will be remembered by all who enjoyed the gift of his cleverness and wit. Condolences to his family and all of his caring friends at WABC.

  20. My most heartfelt sympathy to the wife and children as well as Mr McQuirck’s extended family at WABC. Bernie was gifted with an ability to communicate his philosophy of righteounes, fareness and the immense value of our republic in very simple terms. His influence will stay in our minds forever. Great legacy.

  21. My condolences to the McGuirk and WABC family. Bernard McGuirk is a New York treasure. I loved his with and wisdom. He had me in stitches on many a morning ride. For example, Imus once asked Charles McCord what he did over the weekend. Charles stated he went to see the movie, “The Whalerider.” Imus was puzzled and asked what was the “Whalerider”about? Bernie chimed in that it was about Rosie O’Donnell’s girlfriend. I literally almost drove of the rode. Bernard told it like it is, and he proclaimed the truth. He was the voice of the working class people. Most of all, he had us laughing in the morning. When I found out he passed on, I went down to where he resided in Long Beach, and I strolled the shoreline of beach just praying for his soul. Enjoy paradise, our dear friend!

  22. Bernie was brilliant, witty, sarcastic, and well informed. After listening to him every morning on the radio I felt as if he was my friend. It was clear he put a lot of time and effort being prepared for his show every day.
Bernie and Sid complemented each other.

  23. My deepest condolences to the Mc Guirk family,Sid and the WABC family,Bernie and Sid made my mornings, and my day.I had the honor of talking to them when I got on Beat Bernie, although I never met him I always felt he was a friend and I will miss him.God bless you Bernie

  24. Bernie and Sid were my drive time companions for many years when I worked in NY and even now as I moved to TX. I’ll miss him. Loved his political frankness and his parodies in Imus. Praying for his family.

  25. Sid,

This probably won’t get posted, but I’ll try anyway. I know your heart is heavy and it hurts. Broken hearts always hurt very badly. Only time can heal it.

I was angry with IMUS when he let you go. But, Bernie knew the same as I. He knew you were the greatest ever. I think Bernie was the reason you were brought back.

I was relieved of my anger. You were back and shining with power and insight on every topic under God.

Bernie was the true source of power behind the scenes. All those years with IMUS, I was around too, with all of you. Bernie stunned everyone, consistently, and it was always an inspiration.

You must carry forward the torch. You’ve earned it. You’ll never find another Bernie. Don’t worry about it. You’ll figure out everything in due time. Let matters take their natural course and you’ll see further greatness along the way.

  26. I was praying that Bernie would beat this cancer, my condolences to his family & to his family at WABC. We have lost another great voice on the radio. Gone too soon!

  27. I have been listening to Bernie, it must be to close to thirty years. To my wife and I he was the Imus Show. I saw him with Bill and Sid a few years back at the Paramount in Huntington.
    We will miss him.

Our deepest condolences to his family and WABC.

  28. Bernie you will be sorely missed. Your talent to connect with your audience was unmatched. You made us your friends, your family. You were just the “average guy” who had the gift of putting what we were all feeling into your eloquent words. Thank you for all you’ve done. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family

  29. Bernie, the world was a better place with you in it. I miss you terribly. My condolences to your family and friends. God bless.

  33. I have been a WABC radio fan for decades. After moving to California 2 years ago, I continued to enjoy Bernie and Sid via podcast almost every day, My wife and I would listen to the Beat Bernie segment after dinner every night. After my wife passed away last December I could no longer enjoy that segment alone. So I hope she gets a chance to Beat Bernie in heaven.

  34. Oh, to have even a small amount to Bernie’s intelligence, wit, sense of humor and kindness would be a blessing. God bless you and keep you Bernie. A life well lived will leave your family with wonderful memories after the pain of your loss moderate’s. Rest In Peace my radio friend.

  37. I prayed for Bernie every single morning and night. I never thought I could be as devastated over the death of someone not in my close immediate family, but when I heard the news, I cried as I’ve done many times when close family members have passed away. I loved you for years, Bernie, and I love you still. May you truly rest in peace with no more pain and suffering.
