Deepest sympathies to the McGuirk family & WABC family. I so enjoyed listening to Bernie every day. May he rest in peace 🙏.
R, IP Bernie
I listened to Bernie when he was with Imus and found him and Charles to be the backbone of that show. When Bernie teamed with Sid I was not sure it would work and it was better than anything I heard on Talk Radio. His intelligence, humor and love for his family will be missed. RIP
"Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us everyday, unseen, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear. The grief of our loss maybe with us for a very long time, but the joy of our memories will stay forever."
God speed Bernard McGuirk💚☘
Years ago I wondered what my morning drive would be without Imus and his crew including Bernie. Then in the last couple of years I could only listen to Imus for a few minutes as in the end all he did was b*tch about people and how he felt. Lo and Behold Bernie and Sid came along. Never once did I hear Bernie complain. Everyday he brought me laughter and joy. Bernie you are one in a million and I hope you’re in heaven having a raucous time with all the Cardinals gone before you. Thank you and God bless
Icon and presence every morning. Super special guy. Too sad.
vsk
He will be sorely missed in my household. We woke up every morning to hear what Bernie and Sid were talking about. Condolences to his family, his on air family and colleagues and to their listeners. May he rest in eternal peace.
A big part of our morning is gone forever
I found Bernie years ago with Imus .
My wife Barbara and I are deeply saddened.
Our heartfelt condolences to his wife and children.
I remember first seeing Bernie on Bill O’Reiley’s show on Fox and thinking this guy is so smart and clearly well informed. Bernie& Sid get me through morning traffic from Westchester to the Bronx and into my office until I finally have to get to work. Sid has done an amazing job but the 2 together we’re a dynamic duo. I miss his voice and his intellect. May Bernie’s memory be a blessing. RIP
Bernie conveyed a sensible, responsible point of view that helped New Yorkers deal with everyday life in NYC . Rest In Peace Bernard…
My deepest sympathy to Bernie’s family and his WABC family. I only started listening to Bernie & Sid after they got their own show because I didn’t like, really couldn’t stand Imus.
I was so glad they got their own show and I’ve been a faithful listener while I work from home most of the time. Bernie was so smart and always agreed with his politics, etc.
He will be missed very much.
To the McGuirk and WABC families, as my alarm wakes me up every morning to wabc radio, I heard Curtis speak in the past tense about Bernie. I quickly grabbed my cell, searched and my heart broke. I have been a fan of Bernie’s from FOX to Imus and to the #1 morning show Bernie and Sid. The balance of these two gave me perspective and their guest line up (especially the Trump interview) made each morning that much more of a reason to rise and shine.
Cancer is ugly, it knows no race, religion or sexual orientation. It hit home for me this morning, I lost my dad at 56 years young to a malignant brain tumor.
When men cry when speaking about Bernie, it proves what a good man he was.
God bless the McGuirk and WABC families. I was blessed to have shared many mornings w/a smart, funny and good man, Bernie.
Truly Heartbroken to hear such sad news!
Have been a fan of Bernie, going back to his brilliance broadcast contribution on the Imus show as well as the 77WABC.
I will miss dearly. My Deepest Condolences to his entire family and fellow colleagues at 77WABC.
May God Rest Soul In Peace.
The message here goes out to ALL men. Get your PSA levels checked! Prostate Cancer is a mid-life surprise that is very manageable if diagnosed early.
The void left by Bernie will be hard to fill.
Twenty year Survivor.
I’ve been an avid listener of talk radio for over 30 years- now that I’m retired, I listen to Bernie and Sid show every day, in my room and they really were like a part of my family
I have laughed with them, joining them in their frustrations and pretty much agree on what
was said- I know its after the fact but I was wondering why he never went to one of the sponsor Dr. Leiderman for a second opinion but its after the fact- I have said a few prayers for him and his family and hope that God will give his family and all the WABC family peace in their hearts-
I had the pleasure of meeting Bernie back in the Imus days and even cheered him on when he fought Sid in the boxing match. He impressed me with his intelligence and his honesty. He will be missed.
So sorry to hear the news. Mr McGuirk’s intellect, wit, and his unique sense humor will be sincerely misssed ! RIP
Great, Sharp, and Funny, to the point Man. Bernie conveyed a sensible, responsible point of view that helped New Yorkers deal with everyday life in NYC . Rest In Peace Bernard…
Prayers to all of Bernie’s family and friends through this devastating loss. I have been listening to Bernie & Sid many a morning only drive into work. Such a smart, insightful and truly funny man. Radio will not be the same without him. God’s comfort to all.
R.I.P you will be greatly misse. תנצב״ה
Bernie, you were great. And so funny!! RIP
So sad to hear this devastating news. I’ve listened to Bernard for years. I’m heartbroken.
Bernie made my daily commute from LI to Brooklyn every day since the Imus days a fun ride. He was a truly “regular guy”. Bernie made all us listeners feel like we were his best friends. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. Donald McManamon
LO❤️E YOU
My sincere condolences to his family and his colleagues. He was a part of my mornings for years and his voice will be missed by everyone who listened to WABC. This is a sad day for all.
He was brilliant and he kept it real. I am heartbroken. I have lost my brother from another mother.
I had a chance meeting with him at the ATM at MSG. I heard this very familiar voice “Chatting” with the machine. I turned around and said “Bernie!!” He could not have been nicer and more humble. He could not believe how much I knew about the show. But, like so many others, I had been a huge fan since the Eighties.
Prayers to his family and his colleagues at WABC. Thank you to the owners and management for giving him this opportunity to shine in his final years. The best thing you can do for his outstanding legacy is to keep it going.
Bernie got me through a 37 year career as I listened to him throughout the years on the way in to work everyday. He and Sid were the best. Felt like he was a true friend like any of my high school or college buddies. Same with Sid; who is tough and will soldier on. May God be with Bernie’s wife and children right now and speed him on wings of angels to Heaven. I know he will always be looking down and helping us as he did on this earth
I heard the news today ….. my world has lost a treasure. Been balling all morning… my prayers for the Mcquirk ,Cats… and most of all SID …
Be strong we will get by , we will survive
MAY THE FOUR WINDS BLOW YOU SAFELY HOME MY FRIEND …..
Irreplaceable. As the Greeks say, may his memory be eternal.
You have been a part of radio listening for a very long time. First with
Imus then with Sid. You have mad me laugh so hard that I would cry. Thank you for the years of listening joy you gave me. I pray for your family and for you to Rest In Peace knowing that you were loved and not alone.
Bernard was a modern day icon and a wealth of Witt and knowledge, a true legend. He will be missed. Condolences to his family and friends .

God speed Bernard McGuirk
We will miss you more than words can say, Bernie. Sending my prayers to your family at home and to Sid and your WABC family. A brilliant man, honest, courageous and without ego. I never failed to be in awe of your knowledge of history and our world today, never preaching at us but enlightening us with a laugh or two. God Bless!
I’m proposing it now – next St Patrick’s Day – Fri March 17, 2023 WABC Radio holding the First Annual ‘BernieCon’ Convention with every show broadcasting live from wherever it is. Let’s Do This!!
I never met the man but he’s been in my house/car every morning for many years. My tears are falling and sadness is in my heart for a person who I admired tremendously for his honesty, straightforwardnesses and his faith. God Bless his soul. Condolences to his beloved family.
The world has lost another great man. Thanks for all the laughs over the years. You will be truly missed. Prayers and sincere condolences to the McGurk family and friends 💔🙏
My friend, Bernie.
Thank you as a fellow resident of the Bronx and alum of The College of Mount Saint Vincent. Thank you for all the books your shared with me. Your brilliance was evident across all the years of your life. I miss you already so much, we all do who knew you and the gentlemen you are. Condolences to your wife and children whom you loved so deeply. May the wonderful memories carry them through all the years of their lives. Blessings to Sid during his profound time of grief.
So long kind Sir.

I’ve been listening to Bernie for 30 years. Always wanted to meet him and I got that opportunity two years ago when I won tickets to the comedy night show in Manhattan. Unfortunately, I was battling colon cancer at the time and going through chemotherapy. My daughter was living in Manhattan at the time so I gave her and her girlfriend the tickets. She was able to meet Bernie and Sid and had such a good time that night I’m glad she was able to get to the show and meet them. Rest in peace Bernie
Heartbreaking! New York Lost a Beloved Son! We lost a Beloved Friend , Patriot, Fighter, our inspiration to pay attention and trust our common sense!
Stay strong Sid and Team!
Your audience needs you and we will be here for you!
Bernie was the best. Listening to him as a kid in the car with my dad back in the 90’s. (Who could forget those WFAN prank calls LMAO) Then as an adult and a pissed off conservative in NY, listening to him and Sid. Now it’s gonna feel a little lonelier and a lot less funny going to work. RIP Bernard Mcguirk!
Been a fan since the Imus day. Great guy all around. Bernie you will be missed but never forgotten 💔. May you rest in peace and may God give your family the strength to cope with this difficult time. Love you Bernie.
Thoughts & prayers to Bernie’s family & to the entire WABC family. Can’t think of a better morning program to tune in to other than the great Bernie & Sid! God Bless Bernie.❤️
Bernard will be missed – I have been listening to him for years. I was lucky enough to shake his hand and have his picture taken at one of his shows with Sid in NYC. I have been praying for him to fight his cancer everyday since December. My family and I want to express our deepest condolences to Carol Melonie Brendon his dad and his family and friends. He suffered too long – May he Rest In Peace. Love you Bernard forever 🙏🏻💔🙏🏻💔
I’ll miss him terribly my favorite radio guy he had my family’s Irish sense of humor it’s like I lost a member of my family . My condolences to the family and to his radio family and especially Sid his partner in crime.
You will be missed is an understatement
You touched everyone’s life in a positive way
Rest in peace
I live in Chicago and have been listening to Bernie and Sid every morning for the last 2 years. To me it was like having this incredible new radio voice to hear who thought the way I do. Bernie was important to people all over the country. Not just NYC.
Rest In Peace my friend. Although we never met in person I felt very bonded, our thinking and life style very similar. I’ll miss your voice with your firm, truthful and funny comments. Thanks for fighting the good fight…..
Such a sad day, May he Rest In Peace. My deepest condolences to his family. He was a part of my every morning routine on 77 WABC. He made me laugh and I loved his wit and intellect on current and past events.
I live in Chicago and have been listening to Bernie and Sid every morning for the last 2 years. To me it was like having this incredible new radio voice to hear who thought the way I do. Bernie was important to people all over the country. Not just NYC. Almost a year to the day of losing my father, today is another sad day as I reflect on all the men who have influenced me in my life. He will be missed greatly.
Listening to him everyday and getting to know him on the radio felt like I knew him personally and I guess in sense we all did know him. Bernie was/is loved by many listeners and I was heartbroken to hear that he has left us all.
Been a fan of Bernard’s since the Imus days. Although we never met it feels like I’ve lost a close friend now that he’s gone.
If we all had Bernie’s resilience, curiosity, intellect and kindness the world would be a better place. We’ve lost a great man who’s memory will not be forgotten. My sincere condolences to Carol and the family.
