Every weekday morning I enjoyed listening to the Bernie and Sid show. I missed him on the days he wasn’t there because I truly enjoyed his knowledge, wit, honesty, and humor. I was always amazed at how Bernie who was so brilliant and intelligent and had such clear logic never let it get to his head and was so humble. Being famous, number one show, still same Bernie. He was an absolutely wonderful, kind and respectful person whom I wish to emulate.
My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.
Very sad to hear, been listening to Bernie since 2001. He will be missed.
My condolences goes out to his famy…God will welcome him with love and cherish….RIP my friend….
Heard about it on my car radio. A sad day for listeners. I followed him since he used to appear on Bill O’Reilly’s tv show. You couldn’t help but love him. Condolences to his family. I bet he’ll get a Beat Bernie trivia game started in heaven…🙏🌷
God bless and keep you Bernie, and condolences, love and prayers to the McGuirk family.
I was very sad to hear the news. I went to mass today and prayed for the loss of Bernie, his partner. Condolence to his wife and children and all who knew and loved him. Rest In Peace.
Bernie was one of a kind. May G-d rest his soul. We are all poorer for his passing.
May god bless his soul, my thoughts and prayers to his family 😢.
Never met him, but a long time listener. Love his passion he will be deeply missed!!
From Imus to Bernie and Sid, Bernard McGuirk made me laugh, think and , when he got sick, cry. For a person who loves to sleep, even after retiring, I got up in the morning to listen to him . He ,at first with Imus and then with Sid, was part of my morning routine . He became like family. Being a cancer survivor myself , I rooted for him to beat this disease. I am so sorry for his family and his WABC family too. I will miss his wry humor, his honesty and common sense , and his bravery to call all the phonies out when he saw fit. Rest In Peace Bernie. God bless you.
I appreciated listening to you on my drive into work everyday. You will be missed. RIP Bernie, singing and smiling with the Angels above. Peace and condolences to his family and side kick Sid and everyone at WABC

So sad to hear about the passing of Bernie. He told it like it was and carried himself as a subject matter expert and he was intelligent as they came. Loved hearing him and Sid and boy they both have such unique voices.
Will miss you Bernie.
I began following Imus when I came to NYC from Boston for my first job on Wall St. after Law School. Emerging almost immediately as the real talent and glue of the show was “Bernie” McGuirk. Incredibly creative, funny as hell and yet at just the right time the smartest, and wisest person in the room whose compassion I gleaned from his words and tone of voice for many callers who obviously needed it and he sensed it. Like Bernie I came from limited means and on my own since age 13. He let nothing stop him and made his way to the top thanks to his own efforts and later with the support of his oh so close family, especially his wife. I made what I think has been a modest success for myself given similar odds and listened every day, waiting expectantly for the Cardinal and “What doesn’t belong and why”! And waiting also for his insightful, logical and unfiltered view of the world around us and the people in it. All the while he maintained palpable humility, love of family, respect for others and fearless in his expression of feelings. I would have tuned out Imus and everyone else were it not for Bernie who, without knowing one another personally, became “friends “ for all of these years. Then, I lost my wife to cancer as well and I cannot tell you how much it meant to hear him on the radio on those mornings when getting out of bed was a chore. He made me laugh, made me think and helped me curate my feelings. All without exchanging a single word with me directly. A remarkably intelligent , self-made man with a big heart who never forget from whence he came. Exactly the sort of man to be admired and admire him I did and will continue to do so in his memory. My sincerest condolences to his entire family and especially to his wife, Carol with whom I now can readily identify. To borrow(and slightly modify a phrase): Who belongs and why? Bernie McGuirk belongs. And why? Because he was a man who in all respects, was someone that the rest of us can only aspire to be and so few succeeding. Alavah Sholom, Bernie. Rest In Peace!
From another 1st generation Irish, catholic, I so related to you . Loved your wit, wisdom, sarcasm and humility. You and Sid were epic, got me through the dark days of covid. A lone voice of sanity and reason while lock downs and tyranny took over. Nobody could beat Bernie and if they did, you were gracious and offered your congratulations. My prayers for your family and Sid. We are better for knowing you Bernie!! God bless
You are alive in our hearts Bernie …i will look up and talk with you and I hope you hear me like I heard you for so many years. You’re with God now, strong again.
A sad day here in Hopewell Township, Beaver County, PA. I share in the loss of Bernie and am deeply saddened by his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, Sid and the whole WABC family.
Bernie will be missed. He was a wonderful personality on the air.
May he rest eternally in the presence of God with all the saints who have gone before ✝️❤️✝️
I’m 26 years old Bernard, you impacted my life in a profound way. I spent many hours listening to you in the morning and am going to go back to the podcasts and listen to everything you did on WABC. Our mornings won’t surely will not be the same going forward, there is only one Bernie. God bless you and your family Bernie, thank you for everything.
How terribly sad. He was a fine man and that’s what rang true about him. My condolences to the family. He was a good man.
I first heard Bernie when he started with Imus in the ‘80s and he’s been my morning drive companion ever since. His wit, insight, intelligence and compassion made commuting to work fun across almost 4 decades,
Thousands of miles and 2 careers.
Thanks Bernie for a great ride❤️Rip
Bernie McGurk left a powerful mark on the world by his incredible witness of courage in the midst of suffering. I will remember his kind words to Sid, how unafraid he was to say "I love you" to people.
His insights on the culture were spot on & this too is why he was funny- he pointed out irony.
I will remember Bernie’s fantastic interviews on the Fox O’Reilly Spin Factor, also how Bernie supported the Blue at Eisenhower Park just a few summers ago. He spoke lovingly of the water & beach at Long Beach & bicycling. Voracious reader as exemplified by his great intellect yet unmatched by his even greater heart.
I am so saddened to hear of Bernie’s passing. Bernie made my 2 hour commute a joy. I couldn’t wait to get in my car and turn on WABC to listen to Imus, and then the Bernie and Sid Show. I will miss his wit, humor, and brilliance for years to come. My sincere condolences to Bernie’s family and everyone at WABC. May God look over you all during these difficult times. Bernie, you were and always be, the best.
Thank you Bernie and your splendid personality for many years of broadcasting, your passing has hit me hard and although I am sad now, I’m glad you are at peace. Syd will survive and like he said recently on his broadcast, his narcissistic behavior will prevail. Peace, love and wish your family well
I’ve followed Bernie for many years and am saddened to hear of his death. His humor was priceless. I always loved his “what doesn’t belong and why” segment with Imus! RIP Bernie!
Thank you Bernie and your splendid personality for many years of broadcasting, your passing has heart felt moments Ann’s
The sad and tragic loss of Bernard McGurk is going to reverberate throughout the halls of WABC for years to come. Not just the loss of his comedic talent and rapier like wit but his mastery of political punditry will surely be missed
At a time we’re still reeling from the loss of Rush Limbaugh we can’t afford to have a brilliant conservative voice like Bernie’s silenced.
His historic and political knowledge has been woefully missed during the many weeks of absence from the show. I’m afraid his partner is inept in this department. His narcissism, self promoting and scatological humor just makes it another juvenile morning zoo.
Bernie was a man of class, humility, humbleness and intelligence. Many traits missing from his partner. His ability to discuss geopolitics and global economic woes and make it understandable to a layman was a gift. You will be missed and a void that will never be filled. May you be in Heaven 10 minutes before the devil knows your dead. GODspeed my friend.
Bernie, i hope to hear you again one day. All of God’s blessings to you and your family and close friends, especially Sidney Rosenberg. You are THE BEST, and you will be sorely missed every day. Sid will carry the torch and do you proud!
If its possible you’ll make heaven a better place!
Rest in peace
Your Faith In The Risen Christ Is Inspiring Mr. MCGUIRK…May you Rest In His Sacrificial Eternal Peace…✝️❤️🩸🔥
Bernie, you made me laugh over these many years and you are missed.
Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine.
Et lux perpetua luceat ei.
Fidelium animae, per misericordiam Dei,
requiescat in pace.
Amen
I’m so sad. Like losing a family member. I started listening to Bernie with the I-man in 1978. My prayers and condolences to his family.
May you Rest . I enjoyed every minute you were on radio and tv . Our prayers to you and your family.
Carol and family thank you for sharing Bernie with us, his radio and more recently, his television family over the decades. Thank you and condolences to the McGuirk family.
we love you bernie…..god bless you and your family
Correction, Bernie as Cardinal OConnor
Rest in peace, Bernie. You will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.
Funny as hell, especially as the bishop with Imus.
As far as conservative, common sense, traditional American who left too soon, I put him in the same category as Rush and Brietbart.
It must be a conspiracy because the crazy libs dont die!
We loved Bernie aside from one awful sleep deprived moment about the Rutgers U. women basketball players. It got settled. Don was no racist.Bernie was no racist. I blame Mike Breen or Bill from White Plains. Nobody did a take on Cardinal O Connor. Bernie made radio history and all of us laugh and cringe with Which Doesn’t Belong and Why just after all those Lottery numbers….Like the passing of Imus, this is another moment for us to raise a glass, offer sympathy to his Family and be glad we commuted or just listened to the morning jive drive of Bernie,Larry,Rob,Charles,Warner,earlier-Breen and before Bernie, even Marv Albert on the early days of WNNNNBC..God Bless Ireland,Long Island and the bald headed stooge!
Even though I’ve been following Bernie’s illness over the past many months, I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. I am glad that he is no longer suffering, but I will miss him immensely each morning. In addition, my heart breaks for his family and for Sid. It’s a life cut short and a huge loss to his friends, family and listeners. He was an awesome guy! R.I.P. Bernie.

As this nights moon reflexes
the sun to light the dark, so to did Bernie light the darkness of the powers within the nations discourse. Maybe he was saved from the turmoil which may soon come.
Hearing about Bernard in past tense this morning was a real shock I did not know things were so bad. I was really rooting for him to recover and return. He was my favorite radio personality and will sorely miss him. Rest in peace.
Can’t imagine a morning that starts without Bernie. What a wonderful person, true talent and great American. I know that Bernie has returned to his heavenly Father’s care where he will no longer suffer. I pray for his family and I pray for his colleagues at WABC.
Bernie, your radio voice will be truly missed. Condolences to the McGuirk Family. Bernie was a humble and respected human being; he loved New York and he loved America. You were taken from US much too soon. Rest In Peace Bernard McGuirk
My sincere heartfelt condolences to the McGuirk family. I have been listening to Bernie since the Imus days. Bernie was a constant in my morning routine. My son Brendan went to Kellenberg Memorial with Brendan McGuirk. They were friends and in the same homeroom together. Bernie was a class act. So smart and so funny and a true patriot. He will be deeply missed. I feel like a family member died. My prayers are with his family. I also sent my prayers to his work family especially Sid. Heaven gained an angel.
I never thought I could love somebody I never met before. Bernie was one of a kind. His sense of humor and intellect will be sorely missed. The world will be a different place without him. We are all feeling the “Bern”. My deepest condolences to his wife Carol and family.
Bernie will be missed by so many people. May he Rest In Peace and pray for us. God bless him and his family.

My mornings are forever changed.
Thank You Bernie for being the voice
of reason. RIP
I have listened to Bernie for several years on Imus and then the even better Bernie and Sid Show on WABC, he was the real deal, did his research, was spot on with his analysis of politics and people plus one of the funniest guys on the air. My condolences to his family and to the WABC family, especially Sid. Sid will continue the excellence that they created and carry a little bit of Bernie with him every day. Thank you Bernie for making my commute to work each day a little bit brighter. God Bless
The world has lost a very special person with the passing of Bernie McGuirk. No matter what was happening anywhere in the world, I couldn’t wait to turn on the radio to hear his insight on the issue. I agreed with him 98% of the time. IMy prayers and condolences to his beloved family, Sid, and his radio family. He will be missed. Rest In Peace.
Bernie, Thanks for always making my day better. Thoughts & prayers to your family. You will be missed
