A great American, a real patriot, gone too soon. A like minded brother I didn’t get to meet in this life. Peace in heaven
RIP Bernie. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🌹. Heaven is a better place because you are there. I cried when I heard the news this morning. I kept thinking you would beat this but stage 4 cancer is hard to beat. I am same age as you n our views are identical. Feel like I lost a good friend.💔. You and Sid are my morning ritual and I have been missing you so much. My prayers to your lovely family and the 77 WABC FAMILY as well. You are a patriot 💔🤍💙🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏻
Bernie brought balance and sanity to the Imus program for years. It’s hard to remember a time when I didn’t listen to Bernie. He will always be remembered for his honesty and compassion and his love for his family. Most of his listeners never met Bernie, but we felt as if he was our close friend. May his family and friends find some comfort in remembering all his unique qualities. Very sad time. A huge void in our world has been created.
Bernie said it , what others were thinking . No fear ! So what !!! He never wanted to be Howard stern , like others , he was himself . Loved listening to him , a real New Yorker . New York lost a legend . His point of view and perspective, will sadly be lost …..Bernie , rest brother . God bless your family . We will miss you .
To Carol, Brendan, Melanie, Bernie’s dad, daughter in law and whole family:
Our hearts are broken for you loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Bernie a few times at Kellenberg Memorial High School where my two boys, James ‘12 and Jon ‘14 attended, each a year behind Brendan and Melanie. James was a teammate on the track team with Brendan. Bernie was so gracious and humble whenever i had the opportunity to talk to him at a meet or parents meeting . I became a fan of the Imus show because of Bernie, Charles, later Sid and the other supporting players.Despite her dislike for Imus himself, i convinced my wife to stay tuned and pay attention to Bernie. She too became a big fan. Bernie was as funny as he was smart, but it was his sincerity, genuineness, regular guy persona, and fearlessness to stand up for an issue like condemning the Iraq War, that made him great at his job. We feel like we lost a brother and a friend. Our mornings will never be the same. Our hearts go out to Sid, the Catsimitedes family and all at WABC. You can tell Bernie was never more happy at work than he was these last few years.
Our prayers are with the McGuirk family and we will keep Bernie in our hearts and memories forever. Rest eternally Bernie and may the Perpetual light shine upon him. May he Rest In Peace. Amen 🙏
Warmly, the Pustorino Family
God called another soldier home. RIP
Your the best bernard! You will live on and never be forgotten! Loved every work you spoke
Heartbroken when I heard of Bernie’s passing. He truly was a gift from GOD. His humble , hard scrabble life growing up didn’t stop him from working hard to achieve his dreams . He blessed us with his incredible wit , good nature , Love of GOD , Family and Country. Truly a man’s man who related to all of us, loved by millions and will truly be missed until we meet again Bernie! Love ya man , Today we know you walk among Angels….
Bernie, thank you for making me laugh, I will miss you. My condolences to his family and the WABC77 family.
I’ve been living in Florida since 1986, and although I consider myself full fledged Floridian, I do miss NY radio. Used to hear Steve Malsberg overnight via skywave in the 2000’s when I worked nights. I continue to hear 77WABC via streaming. Most mornings I listen to Bernie and Sid. I was listening to a local morning show for election reasons the past few days. I’m shocked and saddened to hear of Bernie’s passing. I heard the tribute scheduled this Tuesday about a half hour ago during Bill O’Reilly and Bill’s tribute to Bernie. Bernie is a perfect fit and liked how he and Sid would interact and comment on all the current issues. I like spontaneity on radio, and Bernie with Sid was the perfect recipe for that. I’ll be listening to that tribute. Mornings on WABC 77 won’t be the same without Bernie. Thoughts & prayers for his family.
Never met you, Bernie, but am so very sad today.
Always loved your thoughts , intellect , & message.
Our prayers are for you, your beloved family , & friends.
I’ve been a diehard fan from Ca. for over thirty five years Rest in Peace Bernie, we love you out here too, what a sad day it is.
My heart sank when I learned of Bernie’ s passing. A kindred spirit. Smart, straight shooter, witty. I will miss your hearing you on the radio every morning. God Bless You, Rest in Peace Bernie.
Bernie’s whole career was entertaining us. What a great talent and what a wonderful way to spend life. May God be with his family in this difficult time and may He rest his soul. Thanks for all the laughs. Say hi to Imus for us buddy.

So so sad. I have been checking every night for news and hoping he could have made it back for one more show. So talented, so funny, so thought provoking. I’m so happy that the show made #1, it’s a testament to his legacy. What a great joy to have spent so many mornings with the great Bernard McGuirk. Deepest condolences to everyone that loved him, he is irreplaceable.

I started listening ,watching you in the late 1990’s. I really enjoyed that. Thanks very much
Rest In Peace
I can’t count the number of gloomy mornings made manageable because of his quick, biting wit and incredible comedic timing. Rest In Peace and rest well.
I am devastated by Bernie’s death. I listened to “Bernie and Sid” every day and would listen to the podcast at night. I pray Sid has the strength to continue on in memory of Bernie. Bernie was so intelligent and the only person I listened to in regards to politics. RIP Bernie.
Rest In Peace Bernie. An Irish Mensch. Bernie made me laugh as hard as I ever did and his always heartfelt, sincere concepts, ideas, comments and words had intelligence, truth and wit combined. Miss his voice.. would have been honored to meet and know him.
So very sorry to hear about Bernie. He will be missed. It seems as if all of the great people are leaving us.
Bernard McGuirk was not just funny but intelligent funny. I just cant’t count the times he made me laugh. Thoughts and prayers to the McGuire family.
My heartfelt condolences to the MCCUIRK family. We just lost a beloved family member to cancer so we realize what you are going through. Unfortunately when the big guy upstairs says come home that’s it. May Bernie RIP. N.K.🙏🏻🙏🏻
The passing of Bernie is such a loss for all of us, especially his family, his radio family, and his listeners. I always enjoyed listening to Bernie’s commentaries, they were insightful, full of knowledge, and entertaining. Thank you, Bernard, for being on the air for us. RIP Bernard McGuirk.
Always loved Bernie’s take on “the Cardinal” was so glad when he and Sid got their show. Prayers to his wife and children.

Personal and the 77 family
💜💜💜 Bernie! You’re now entertaining JESUS and all the Heavenly souls. You will be missed dearly. 🙏 praying for your family and all who love you. ✝️ GOD bless everyone!
🙏🙏🙏🛐🛐🛐♥️👍
Rest In Peace Bernard McGuirk. I was an admiring fan of his throughout the Imus years. Bernie’s portrayal of “The Cardinal” can never be topped! The more The Cardinal threw Imus under the bus, the more Imus laughed. Bernie died at age 64. If only he could have enjoyed many more years free of Imus’s torture. Like my dad who died at age 62 a few years before he was to retire and enjoy his grandkids. To miss all that … that’s why people say “Live in the present moment!”
In 2019, I wrote President Trump on the White House website saying that he had no greater voice than Bernie’s and I went on to suggest that he give Bernie a prestigious award.
Loved it whenever I heard Bernie say “There but for the grace of God go I.” Bernie is in a well-deserved better place now.
Sincere condolences to the McGuirk family and all at WABC on the passing of the great Bernard McGuirk. I have been a fan of his since Imus and more recently at 77WABC. He will be sorely missed. His memory lives on in the legacy he leaves with each and everyone of us.
To family of Bernard, deep sympathy. He was a one of a kind radio personality and I think a very special soul.
G-d speed Bernard
I’m basically a new listener and I must say I’m sorry I didn’t listen to your station sooner! I was so impressed with Bernie..so knowledgeable ..so nice/a gentleman! Lido/lLong beach will miss
him and so will I! No one can replace him! Rest In Peace and my condolences to his family at home and at 77 WABC!
Fill to Bernie the Parting Glass; a fine musical tribute to him. Condolences to his family, friends and WABC. RIP Bernie.
Rest in Peace Bernie. I loved watching you on The Bill O’Reilly show years ago. And I enjoyed your radio show. I know you was a good man. You will be missed.
"Good morning and god bless"-Cardinal Egan
Started as a Imus addict and followed Bern and Sid. Loved what they did for the way too short time they did it. Watching old Cardinal Egan bits on the tube all night. Laughing to tears. Or maybe they are just tears.
Hands down one of the most witty guys I ever heard. Pushed the boundaries all he could.
Lost my dad when he was 66 and I felt robbed. So to his family, I know what you are feelng. Robbed.
So sorry Sid. First your dad then this. May you have better days ahead sir.
Rest in Peace Bernie. You my friend will not be forgotten any time soon.
Rest in Peace Bernie. You always fought the good fight. Your contributions to media and to our nation will always be remembered. Thank you for always seeking and speaking the truth.
So selfishly I wanted you to return to have you on the radio for so many years but the Lord called you home. God Bless you Bernie- I know your pain free and in a better place.
You will be missed.
Love and prayers to Bernie’s family. His many radio fans and listeners will also miss his warm personality, his bravery during his illness, his passion for our country, his voice of reason in these difficult times and his everyday banter with Sid that we all looked forward to each morning. He was a prince among men. Bernie: take your place among the angels…
Bernie was so deeply loved and respected, not just as a legendary figure in radio, but as an extraordinarily fine person. His spirit will live on and will always be with us. Sending prayers of comfort to Carol and his family.
This is incredibly sad … listened to you for many years Bernie , thank you for all the laughs. god speed Bernie! 😔
My wife Susan and I have been fans of Bernie since the early days of Imus on WNBC in NY. And we listened religiously as Bernie and the gang added characters to the show and all with the expressed purpose of harassing Imus comedically day in and day out over the years through countless hours on radio and television. We missed Imus when he passed, but now losing Bernie is a crusher for us and losing his quick wit, his outrageously funny characters, his Irish spirit, and his political heart and soul that knew no bounds over his years on and off the air.
Bernie, we will miss you more than you will ever know and pray that you’ll Rest In Peace until we hear your voice again one day. We know that Sid will continue to honor your memory as much or more than he continues to honor his dad’s. God rest your soul Bernard McGirk….
R I P, U will be missed, in our hearts forever!!
From the 1980’s you were my morning drive to work Mornings will never be the same…
I love listening to WABC, but, when I started listening in the morning I really liked the Sid and Bernie show. They had a great chemistry together. I’m in Montreal, Canada but, I love listening to radio stations from the US. Thank you WABC for having these two great legends together. They were the Simon and Garfunkel of New York morning radio.
R.I.P. Bernie!!
Gone but not forgotten!!
Bernie, Rest In Peace. You were that smart, funny, cool, wise big brother I never had and looked up to. I’m 56 years old, and driving into work today I cried. To honor you, for as long as Sid is involved in the morning show, it would be nice if it were to remain the Bernie & Sid Show. God Bless you.
We have lost a truly great American. He was honest and fearless. He was able to see the world clearly and fairly and never wavered from his positions. I would have liked to have been his friend. My condolences to his family, I didn’t know them but maybe I did.
