  9. My heart sank. I sensed that you were too sick weeks ago and dreaded the news. And so sad now that you are gone. You were valiant in the end. A true sign of courage and character.
I live in Marthas Vineyard but listened to you on NYC radio. As a native New Yorker,, I appreciated your voice of reason, your authenticity, and your goodness that always shined through.
I will light a candle at my catholic church tomorrow. And pray that your family is gentle on themselves with the support of your fans there to lift them up.

  10. A gentle soul has been called home. Bernard McGuire our Bernie had infiltrated himself so smoothly into our everyday lives that those of us who never met him made us feel like he was our family member. I listen to Bernie for years wether it was radio or television. I was excited when Sid and Bernie teamed up and gave good radio which developer into one awesome stimulating morning fodder for us WABC listeners. It doesn’t seem possible that it will ever be the same again but to Sid’s credit he managed to keep it together and today you have to feel for the guy as you do for Berries family. The next few weeks are going to be rough for us all but knowing that this gentle soul does not have to fight for comfort from pain, medication or medical procedures anymore should calm our pain from losing him to our heavenly father. To the WABC family to Sid Rosenberg and Bernie"s beloved wife and two children and the rest of his family I respectfully submit my deepest most profound condolences. Angela M. Zago

  32. RIP Bernie and prayers to the McGuirk family. I live in VA and have listened for years either live or via podcast. So many great memories over the years, including The Cardinal. And all the books he read, I couldn’t read as fast as him, but did pick up some of them. Thanks for starting my morning off over the years (and especially during Covid, and never missing a day). 36. Among those who have talked, said, and written honoring Bernie, I am sending my condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues. The one thing I would like to say is when listening on the radio Bernie talking about the UFC and MMA including voicing his respect for Dana White for creating this sport. Bernie knew who and where was the upcoming fight. Who won, who lost. Bernie always said if a fighter loses, " keep up the fight, they’ll win another time." He supported the fighters by recognizing how hard dedicated work to have a chance to be in the cage. Many times Boxing was mentioned as well. I will reflect on those conversations for years to come. I hope those who knew him personally and knew of him, Bernie McGuirk was an UFC, MMA, and Boxing enthusiast loving every fight to talk about until the next one. On every level of traits, character, talent, intelligence, integrity, common sense any human being can have, that was Bernard McGuirk who will be sorely missed.

  37. I’ve been crying all day for the loss of sweet Bernie who brought me so much laughter and insight. You are my favorite of all time. I’ll never forget you Bernie. You’re walking with God now.

  38. Dear Bernie,

  40. Who would have thought a guy that grew up in Montreal, Quebec, Canada would be hooked on listening to Bernie and Sid every morning. I lived on the Upper East Side for a few years and just loved Sid and Bernie’s comradery. They were the absolute perfect team. Not only were they both insanely entertaining, but you could tell they really loved and respected one another. As for Bernie, man he was a freakin’ genius. When I heard about his passing, this hit me really hard because I loved listening to him. The way I look at it, he’s in heaven now, cleaning up at the Trivia Pursuit table. My condolences to his family…. what I want you all to know is just what an amazing impact he has on my weekday mornings, and trust me, most of NYC thinks the same way. God Bless, and see you in the next life!

  41. Sincere condolences to all who knew and loved Bernie. I was truly sad when I learned he lost his battle. He was a genuine voice and a patriot on the radio. He will be missed
