  11. I’m so sorry for our loss. Condolences to the McGuirk family, the Wabc family. I will always smile when I think of Bernie because we have all been blessed to had the opportunity to hear him everyday, but right now, I feel I’ve lost part of my family.

  12. Seldom have I heard a broadcast outpouring of grief that sounded as personal and sincere and heartbreaking as what I awoke to this morning.
Clearly, Bernie was a most special man to an incredibly wide range of friends from an equally wide scope of disciplines and a most beloved radio friend to listeners.
Many of us prayed during his struggle, and were inspired by his bravery. It meant even more because the station itself has become an emotional space of support for its’ audience.
May Bernie rest always in Blessed Peace and his family, loved ones, friends and coworkers be forever fortified by the memory of their time with him.
    God Bless.

  16. My heart broke this morning when I heard if Bernie’s passing. I’ve listened to Bernie since the 80’s and my mornings will never be the same. He was funny, smart, witty, honest and a true American. I always hoped I would tune in to WABC again and hear his voice and that he would be ok and back to brighten our mornings. My condolences to his wife and children, Sid and all his WABC family. Bernie you will live in all of our hearts forever.

  20. Heartfelt condolences to Bernie’s family and to the WABC family. I miss hearing Bernie’s commentary and miss his champion ways on Beat Bernie.

Thank you, Bernie, for your wit, intelligence, and humble sincere manner. You will be greatly missed.

  21. Rest in peace, Bernie. We are praying for your soul and for your family. What a great guy! You’ll be sorely missed.

  22. I live in Sarasota, Fl and learned of Bernie when I watched Imus. I cried this morning when I heard the announcement. He was a good soul and a learned man and I shall miss him.
    May Bernard rest in peace.

  23. As i sat, sobbing, after hearing the bews of Bernie’s passing, i asked myself “why am i so heart-broken? I have never met Bernie!” And i have thought about that question all day. I teared up most of the day while listening to all of the wabc hosts speak of Bernie. It came to me later in the day that personally, Bernie has been with me through all phases of my life, good and challenging times, since 1995. My boys grew up listening to Bernie. I rarely missed an Imus show and i made sure my app was on my phone from day one of Bernie and Sid. As a matter of fact i listen to wabc from morning til morning. Bernie, you have been a rock for me. I will miss your voice, your humor, but mostly your warmth, compassion and sincerity. You will never be forgotten and i know millions sobbed along with me today. And i know, Sid, that he was greeted by Harvey in heaven! Love ya man! 😢❤️

  24. Carol, I hope you and your children know how much your husband and their father meant to us. I never met him. I didn’t have to. He was smart, witty, and humble– hard combination to find in a man or woman. I can’t know the pain you’re feeling right now. I felt like someone punched me in the stomach all day. People don’t understand, unless you heard him everyday like I did, how wonderful he was. I want you to know I appreciate the sacrifice he, along with you and the children made to make millions of us be able to get thru the day. He left a good woman and two wonderful children behind. I hope knowing how much we all appreciate you helps a little.

  25. I am so saddened for the loss of this great courageous man. Listening during Covid you gave me hope that we will get through it. I listened to you when you began to experience the first symptoms of the prostrate cancer and began praying for you. I was sure you would make it through. Sadly, God needed you more. You will give hope to other men to get checked early and you will save lives. I miss you already. Rest In Peace and my condolences to you and your family.

  26. God bless and God speed to you Bernie. You will be missed. You and Sid were invited into our home every morning. You make it seem like you are speaking directly to us, you both are part of our family, even though we never met you. Your family, your friends, your fans love you. Whatever your family needs to find peace we wish it for them. J&k Dispensa

  27. May you rest in the arms of the Lord and may your family be comforted. You will be missed by so many that love you.

  28. I’ve been listening for so many years. You will be missed by so many. mostly by your family and close friends. Now you can smack Imus. We love you.

  29. Prayers for the whole WABC team. Rest In Peace Bernie. My deepest condolences. I will truly miss you on the radio .

  30. To the family of BERNARD "Bernie" MCGUIRK I offer my Heart felt sympathies and will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
Bernie and I would often drive into work together, almost every morning. Me behind the wheel and Bernie behind the microphone. Sometimes my favorite alter-ego would be with me "The Cardinal" He was a great source of pleasure for me. He will be missed.

  31. Bernie thanks for all the entertainment you have provided to so many . Your many years on the radio were so important to so many . You made my daily trip in the car bearable because of all of the laughs you provided . You were loved and will be missed by so many. Rest easy.

  32. You were a wonderful voice of reason Bernie. RIP my friend and keep looking down on us left behind in this crazy world🙏🏻😘

  33. It was a pleasure listening to you on 77. A genius in so many ways that opened up the minds of those that listened. May you Rest In Peace. 🙏🙏🙏

  34. I go back to 1972 listening to Imus In The Morning while commuting as a student to Montclair State. Bernie came on the scene in 1986 and never left my heart. He made me laugh…and think. The great Jimmy Valvano, in his famous Espy awards speech, told us to laugh, think, and cry…every day! Today, I cried. Thank you, Bernie.

  35. Our thoughts and prayers are with the McGuirk family
Bernie was a mans man great human being and hysterical
with all of his skits you will be greatly missed but always
    remembered.
    John and Dawne

You were such a great team.

  37. Since John Catsimatidis took over WABC 77AM its has turned into an incredible asset to NYC and all other listeners.. I basically listen to the station 24/7. I know Curtis has been there forever. It is amazing how Curtis can do different types of shows solo, with a partner any time of day or night. Curtis I know you did a lot for the City back in the day,, While having my morning coffee listening Sid and Bernie was never boring, sought of activated my brain. It always incredible painful to lose loved and close ones. I lost my wife of 63 to Covid about 1.5 years ago, shortly thereafter my mother. So, my condolences to the WABC family and the Mcguirk family. We will all miss him. To Sid: carry on for your Brother, know it will be hard. We are all with you for sure. Again to Cats, you built an incredible Broadcast entity. I can understand you have what it takes to manage your successful Business empire. God Bless……..

  38. Bernie never met you or called the show but I enjoyed show with you and Cid and you and the I man both shows would not have been great with out you rest in peace brother

  39. I am so saddened to hear about Bernie’s passing. He was so young and this breaks my heart. I knew him for years when he worked with my dad. Carol you and your children are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace Bernie! 😪💔😪

  40. If someone had told me 6 years ago I would not only be listening and enjoying talk radio instead of listening to strictly music stations, I would quickly disagree. The Bernie and Sid Show is the reason.

When it was revealed that Bernie was ill, it made me feel like it was happening to a member of my family. It saddens me so much that I will no longer hear him every morning. He educated me in so many ways from his life to his endless book of knowledge.

I admired and respected his love for his family. What a great man.

May you Rest In Peace (although you should still be here.) God Bless You And Your Family.❤️🎶🚴‍♂️🌈

  41. Prayers for Bernie 🙏 and family! RIP my Irish Brother! You will be missed and not forgotten!
