  1. I am truly saddened to hear the tragic news about radio-legend Bernard McGuirk passing. My sincere condolences to his family, and extended radio-family- can only imagine Sid must be beside himself with grief. Bernie was a unique intellectual, but also street-smart tough guy, and will be greatly missed. For me, it reminds me of my own father (named Bernie), RIP, who listened years to talk radio and the IMUS program, and loved Mr. McGuirk. It’s how I myself came to enjoy his political talk and opinion, and his latest show with Sid. May God rest his soul as another great loss for the world! RIP!

  2. I feel like a lost a member of my own family. Bernie educated, entertained, and inspired millions. It was a joy to hear him on the radio. My deepest condolences.

  3. All those who have talked and written expressing their condolences to Bernie’s family, friends, colleagues honoring I am sending mine as well. The one thing I would like to say is how I loved Bernie talking about UFC. Bernie admired, understood the work and dedication of all the UFC, MMA fighters. Bernard McGuirt talked so highly and with such respect of Dana White for what Dana created building the sport. On the radio Bernie knew who was fighting, who was not just winning but those who lost. Bernie said they’ll win one day too. I hope Bernie will be remembered along with everything about him that he was an UFC , MMA enthusiasts encouraging all to to keep the fight to win.

  4. Bernie was an everyday hard working New Yorker and a proud American man with solid values, great common sense, and a wonderful sense of humor. His “beat Bernie” segment had encouraged me to brush up on my American History. Thank you Bernie for many years of insightful commentary. You will be truly missed. My sincere condolences to the McGuirk family, Syd and everyone at WABC. May Bernie Rest In Peace. God Bless.🙏

  5. Profoundly sad to hear of Bernies passing.

I have been entertained and educated by Bernie for many years and this is a profound loss for not only his immediate family but for his radio family as well. My deepest condolences to his wife and children. May he Rest In in peace and fly with the angels.

  7. Sending my heartfelt condolences to Bernie’s beloved family members, Sid and family and all at WABC and to all who loved him. I am heartbroken. I listened every day since the end of 2019 and it was a real privilege to be in his presence each day. I loved his point of view and his sense of humor and the songs he liked. It was a real thrill that we were on the same page about everything! Happy trails, Bernie! You will always be in my heart. hugs to all xoxo

  8. I listened to the show since it aired in 2018. My father( who recently passed) was a fan and encouraged me to listen to the program after Don Imus was off the air. I always appreciated the words he offered throughout the pandemic and his opinion of where things were heading meant a lot to me. He was very on point. He was strong with his beliefs. And stood up for truth and fairness.
His opinions were like the ones of which I follow and mattered very much to me. I always looked forward to listening to his opinion when this nation faced various ordeals these past few years ect.
This world has lost another great one!
I have been crying all day and am very sad that he is gone. I have so much more to add but this is all for now.

  9. Rest In Peace brother. We all loved you so much. Watch over Carol and the kids. See you on the other side.

  10. Carol, Brendan, and Melanie, I’m so very heartbroken for you and your family. Bernie made a huge impact on many, including this Texas girl who came to love him for his honesty, his knowledge, and most importantly, his humility. What an amazing legacy he’s left through you, his friends, and his family of listeners. I said I am heartbroken for you but truly, I am heartbroken for all of us. I will miss him. He made me a better person; I always listened when Bernie gave his opinion, sometimes referencing a book he had read. If only I could peek at his library to gain a bit of the knowledge he shared with us. God bless you and your family as you grieve. I am lifting your family up in prayer. 🙏🏼

    1. I am so sorry to hear about. Bernie. He and Syd were a must listen every morning. I especially loved. Bernie’s candor and honesty in his assessment of the corruption of the media and the gov. He was 200% behind. President. Trump and knew exactly what the games were .. he said how he felt no matter how controversial.
I love Syd and he did an amazing job while. Bernie dealt with this disease. I hoped as all of us did that we’d hear. Bernie back on air any day
And then we heard what we dreaded to know. Today after. Syd took a day for a holiday but wasn’t there this morning .. and why
As a listener I can speak for many of us who are truly heartbroken.. we will miss him and his personality wit and candid wisdom more than we can say. We look forward to hearing the stories and anecdotes from his colleagues and hope that. Syd continues to do a great job He has the talent and brings. Bernie with him in all his broadcasts. We love you guys. Prayers for. Bernie his family and friends …

    1. I’m heartbroken over this news . I’ve been a follower of Bernie for years and he had a personal spot in my life as we walked the same streets and shared some same neighborhoods in Da Bronx when I was young . I was praying Bernie would kick this one to the side but ….this morning ,listening to the show , I broke down and that’s not an easy thing for a tough mick from the Bronx to admit .

Bernie McGuirk whom i listed to daily on the Bernie and SId in the Morning Show….truly epitomized the New York spirit…..gutsy…unafraid…caring…funny ….politically aware…socially conscious..a tell-it-like-it-is guy .
The sense of teamwork, brisk banter and affection he had for his partner was something truly to be admired…..a New York icon who was a shining star of 770AM… May he rest in peace. My condolences to this family

I will always be grateful for his intellect, passion for this country, willingness to take a stand politically, and educate his audience as to why he was right. As important, I am grateful for his ability to entertain us with his wit and sense of humor. Bernie was the best and he will be sorely missed by me as a listener since 1991. God bless B.

  27. What a sad day. My heart broke this morning upon hearing the news of Bernard McGuirk’s passing. I have been a longtime listener since the Imus days and Bernie was such a joy to start my day with. He was smart, funny and had a tremendous love and respect for our country. I’ve missed his muse during his absence, but always thought that it would be temporary. It’s difficult to imagine not starting our days without our beloved Bernie. Prayers and heartfelt thoughts to his family, friends and work family at WABC. God bless Bernie!

  28. I am devastated I have loved Bernie & Sid every since my husband turned me on to the show a few years ago and every morning like clockwork I have to put the show on. No matter what I faithfully listen and just loved when Bernie would come on "beat Bernie" I was amazed at the knowledge Bernie had and how resourceful he was he had an amazing brain. I am so upset today crying episodes remembering him and Sid and then when Sid came on I was a mess I could not believe what I was hearing I really did not want to believe it . My heart is broken in a million pieces right now we lost one of the most amazing men in this world a true patriot a true American and a hero in every sense of the word Bernard Mcguirk you will be missed you will NEVER be Forgotten you will always have a place in my heart and my family’s heart you were amazing and touched us all may you R.I.P. may GOD bless your family I am so sorry .

  30. I listened to Bernie for many years on the radio and on TV. He was one of the smartest people I’ve ever known. He was a family man, a man of integrity. He knew the streets and he knew the books. May GOD bless him and keep him forever in his care.

Bernie May you Rest In Peace

  31. Being a native from England I’m fascinated with accents and you Bernie had one of those classic NY accents not only that you’re observations were clear, concise and on point.
You left us way to soon.
    Rest in Peace.

  32. Bernie spoke for me and thousands of others. Prayers for the family, and everyone at WABC on this very sad day.

  33. I have listened to WABC for decades. From music radio with the Cuz. In the mornings, like so many listeners, I want news, sports, weather etc. I always have found Bernie to be that bright spot, intelligent, funny, and serious when need be. He was the backbone of the Imus show!!! It was great to hear he was a major part of the # 1 Morning Show this year. Well deserved. My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, and 2 children. May God hold him and bless him!!! Ken

  34. I was deeply saddened to hear the passing of Bernie. I enjoyed hearing him and learning from him. I found myself laughing at his stories and learning from him at the same time. I found him to be a lovely spirit and thought him to be just like all of us. No fanfare just pure love and respect for all he spoke to. I will miss him and will continue to pray for his family. God speed good and faithful servant. Rest in peace, Bernie.

  35. I listened to Bernie and Sid every morning on the way to work. Between them and the Great One Mark Levine I started to really get into politics. I learned so much from him and I would try to call in but never got through. When I turned the Radio on this morning and I did not hear Sids voice my heart dropped. I had to pull over and collect myself I felt like a family member died. His knowledge and professionalism will be truly missed not for only our listeners but for everyone around the world he was a true inspiration. I will continue to listen to Sid in the morning but the show will not be the same it’s like a body part missing from a human even though they function they know some thing is missing. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family his wife and his children Bernie rest in peace and your ideas and thoughts will be passed down to everyone that I come in contact with so your ideas and thoughts will live on for eternity. Ernie rest in peace.

  36. So sad to hear of Bernie’s passing. I really thought he was going to beat this and be back on the air. For years Bernie made my ride to work so much better with his skit on the Cardinal and others.

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. The rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand. RIP.

  37. Every morning heading to work Bernie and Sid rode with me. Bernie is witty, smart, and always honest about his battle with Prostate Cancer. My husband passed in July from the same dreaded disease. Bernie was courageous and strong and I kept him in my prayers. He took the Lord’s hand and now is in peace. Condolences to Carol and his loving family.

  38. Rest in peace Bernie. Prayers to your family. You were a pleasure to listen too. Smart, compassionate, straight-up truth, and wit. A great New Yorker. You will be missed!
