  1. So sorry to hear about Bernie. He was such a brilliant radio host and we enjoyed his common sense approach. Since we happened to be in Ireland at "Durty Nellies" pub when we heard the news, we toasted to Bernie, you will be missed. Rest in peace.

  2. Hearing about Bernie’s battles reminded me of my own. Will miss listening to Bernie, who I agreed with 95% of the time. Sympathies to Bernie’s family, Sid, and all of his friends and colleagues at WABC. Get ready for the "Sid Show."

  3. Maureen and I loved having our coffee with Bernie every morning. He was a regular guy with a wonderful personality and great smarts. We miss him.

  4. Seeing you pass is tough Bernard. OMG you made me laugh. I will always remember you with a smile…but will miss your intelligence and wit.

  5. I wasn’t lucky enough to know the man, however, I was fortunate enough to be a listener.

Condolences to Bernie’s family, as well as his WABC family.

    Thanks Bernie, and rest easy.

  6. Thank you for the hours of thought provoking entertainment. I thoroughly enjoyed your opinions and commentary. You inspired many listeners to be proud conservatives including me. I will miss you every weekday morning the rest of my life.

  7. I felt like I knew him like a good friend. A class act, and truly he will be missed. ♥ Rest in Peace Bernie.

  8. "Good morning, young man!" said Bernie McGuirk to me every morning that our paths collided when he came into work at the older incarnation of 77WABC.

(Bernie, of course, was considerably younger than me.)

While I’m sure that if we’d ever talked politics we would have found a very small common area in the Venn diagram, Bernie was one of those people who just had what my late friend Mark Driscoll would describe as a good "aura". It just felt good to see him in a place which might not have regularly provided "good vibes".

My best thoughts to his family. Thank you for sharing him with the world.

  9. I listen to Sid and Bernie every morning and they are part of my family…..You will truly be missed Bernie but I know you are in Heaven with our dear Lord and enjoying your just rewards…..and no longer in pain…..my deepest condolences to your family…..

    1. The sun came out today for Bernie❤️ Bernie Rest in Paradise🙏. He will be sadly missed. 💔 God Bless his family and all who loved him.

  10. I had the pleasure of speaking to him once & besting him in Beat Bernie. It was Jan. 7 2021. I had called in because I was so angry everyone on the show, Including Sid and Bill O’Reilly, were jumping on the bandwagon and blaming Pres Trump. Bernie was the only one who saw the truth. I got cut off on my original call, called back, it was too late to talk, but the contest was available. Proud to beat Bernie, and I let him know I agreed totally with him and he allowed me a 30 second rant without cutting me off! RIP friend and condolences to your family. YOU WILL BE MISSED!

    1. Woke up this am and like usual turned on WABC to listen to Chad’s announcement😪😪😪. I never met Bernie but felt like he was a brother to me. My heart breaks for his lovely wife Carol and Melanie, Brendan. It is a shock but I will see him again. May he suffer no more. My deepest condolences. Love to Sid and all the WABC family. Stay strong and pray for his soul.

  11. I woke up this morning to the sound of a bell tolling before Bernie and Sid began the 6am show. Sadly, I expected this awful news because of Bernie’s lengthy absences, treatments, final complications of appendicitis that burst and lastly, pneumonia. My Dad died of prostate cancer that metastasized over 2 years. That show grew on me somehow and the Cardinal on Imus. Bernie was the backbone, peacemaker, family man. My ❤️ goes out to Carol, his rock through it all and their 2 children. When I heard St. Patrick’s Cathedral 7am Mass on You this morning, I prayed it for him. Poor Sid! Cherish priceless memories and soldier on. We all mourn such a tragic loss. Hole in our hearts 💕. Eternal rest grant unto Bernard McGuirk and may perpetual Light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen

  12. I am deeply saddened today. I have been a huge fan for a very long time now because he is a super smart guy And listening to his intelligent comments was always reassuring. I appreciate his honesty about his life in the school of hard knocks and to know that we all make mistakes but we can all move on.

His humor added to his amazing personality and he simply was an outstanding man. You will forever be missed❤️💜💝

  13. May you rest in eternal peace and may God watch over your family in your absence. Thank you for your thought provoking conversations and your down to earth life stories. You were a true American and I will miss you.

  14. Listen to him and Sid from Naples
Florida the show will never be the same , very intelligent man. Will miss him very much. Hang in Sid he will always be with you.

  15. My late husband and I were Bernie listeners forever. I have felt particularly close to Bernie and you family after my husbands death from mantel cell lymphoma on September 26th last year after a heroic battle and sadly many mistakes by Sloan Kettering. I was so hopeful and prayerful that Bernie had better care than Michael had. I know Bernie had a poor prognosis and when he finally went off air for weeks at a time and Sid became more silent that things weren’t good and prayed for a miracle. I am heart broken for you,Sid and all of Bernie’s friends. While I loved him from afar, I feel a loss of this brilliant, kind funny man. God bless patti

  16. Words are never truly capable to ease the pain of all who lives Bernie touched.

But I believe in the proverb of the Tuscarora Native American tribe: "They are not dead who live in the hearts they leave behind."

I’ve no doubt Bernie will live forever in thousands of hearts.

  17. I’ve been listening to Bernie since the days of Imus, and then to Bernie and Sid every morning. I can’t believe we’ll never hear his voice again. Deepest condolences to his wife and children, and to the whole WABC Radio family. Sid Rosenberg, I know how much he meant to you, sincere sympathy. May he rest in peace.

    1. Bernie was my hero when he was on Imus! When he teamed up with Sid I was delighted to the point of learning how to download the podcasts. Now that I’m moving to SC from California, I will be able to listen to Sid carry the torch.
      RIP kind and gentle servant.
      You ran the good race!

  19. When I heard it this morning, I just couldn’t believe it. It hit me as if I lost a family member. So darn sad.
    Will miss you, Bernie.

  20. I listened to Bernie for over 30yrs. He was special, humble, smart, funny, tough, and he called it like it was. Bernie was the epitome of a New York kid who did good.

Words can’t express the sadness …… gone too soon ….. RIP Bernie.

    My prayers for his family.

  21. My heartfelt condolences to the McGuirk family. I will miss listening to him every morning at 6 while walking my dogs. I would look forward to hearing his opinion on the news of the day and breaking down the story so it could easily be understood. Bernie had a way of connecting to his audience and making you feel as if you knew him personally. My condolences also to Sid, my heart broke listening to him this morning. Sid, Bernie will always be with you.

  22. Dear McGuirk Family,

I was very saddened this morning when my mom told me about Bernie’s passing. I loved listening to him and Sid every morning. We will miss him very much. God rest his soul and God bless his loved ones.

  23. It was pleasure listening to you both every morning. From laughter to sadness with some personal moments we all share in life, it was a joy and a help on hard days to listen to you both. My condolences the Bernard and his family, he will be forever missed.

  24. Been following Bernie since the early days of Imus. He was the heart and soul of that show. Without Bernie Imus would have self destructed very quickly. I feel as if I’ve lost a good friend, someone you could count on to identify right from wrong. I pray for more people of Bernie’s mind to occupy our “airwaves”. His loss hurts and he will be missed.
My condolences to his family and friends.

  26. I have listened to Bernie on Imus and on Bernie and Sid for years and I am so very sad. What an entertaining, smart and talented man. It is such a loss.

  27. Bernie was the real deal and carried the morning show on his shoulders. It was not the same when Bernie was absent. May he rest in peace.

  28. We love you Bernie You will always be remembered. May God give strength to Your Family , Radio Family & Fan Family to get thru this sad time ❤️❤️❤️ Rick / Yonkers

  29. Every morning I turned on the radio hoping to here Bernard’s voice.
    I always thought I would.
Condolences to the McGuirk family and to his WABC family.
    Hang in there Sid.

  30. Deepest condolences to WABC family and friends My mornings won’t ever be the same
    He had such a gift.

  31. Just terrible news. Grew up listening to Bernard on Imus. Super talented and entertaining. We lost a good soul and a great person. Give the I-Man our best Bernie. You will be missed

  32. We all feel like we have lost a dear friend. Bernie has been a regular part of my day since 1986 and I am so happy I had the chance to meet him at the Veterans Day parade back in 2019.

I’m a sales manager for a large flag company and I was always touched by how lovingly Sid and Bernie always talked about their Dad’s.

So I knew they would be broadcasting from the parade and I brought an Israel flag for Harvey Rosenberg and an Ireland flag for Bernie’s dad. Both of them could not have been nicer to me and it’s been a heartbreaking 10 months following Bernie’s final journey.

May God bless Bernard, his family and all of us who will miss this unique man dearly.

  33. I have enjoyed Bernie from the time he first went on the air with Imus. He was always a gentleman in how he handled imus insults and tongue lashings at his expense. When you are born and raised as an Irish young man you never lose the gift of laughter and grace. He had both. I had a true New York connection born and raised in Inwood of Irish parents.
He made the Irish proud to have had him represent us for so many years.
God bless his wife and children and his ABC family.🙏🙏🙏🍀🍀🍀🍀

  34. Bernie was a solid voice of reason, and I learned something every time I listened to him. There will definitely be a huge void with his passing. He put up a valiant fight, and he is no longer suffering. Now it’s our turn. Sending heartfelt condolences to his family and to his WABC family.

  35. An endless voidf
    A hole in our hearts
    A voice silenced forever
    Memories to console us
    Thy will was done !

  36. I was hoping he will win his battle against cancer. I’ve been a fan of Bernie since Don Imus times. So sad that we lost such a great man. RIP Bernie!!!

  37. 30 plus years listening to you the voice of reason, the voice of the cardinal, the wit and intelligence behind the IMUS show the engine that could and did.
May God bless you and your family during this difficult time. Until we meet again my friend Rest easy your job is done here..

  38. Been following Bernie since the early days of Imus. He was the heart of that show and was someone you always wanted to hear and see when he was in TV.
I feel as if I’ve lost a rock and a good friend. The world is a lesser place without him. Condolences to his family.

  39. I loved him on Imus in the morning. He was so funny. Enjoyed seeing him occasionally on Fox News. So sad for his wife and children. Thanks buddy for so many laughs! Praying for y’all!

My wife and I will miss him , he is with God now .God Bless him and his wife and family. , Rest In Peace Bernie. With love Andrew and Rose M

  41. I was a huge fan of Imus. I could not imagine my morning routine without him. When Bernie and Sid came on I was thrilled. I was an even greater fan of their show! I realized where much of the genius on the Imus show came from.
When I opened my app this morning and saw Bernie’s face I was puzzled why. And then I read the caption. I have been so very sad all day. I live in the very liberal suburbs of Washington, D.C. The show keeps me sane.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all who had the privilege to know him. Sid, I am so sad for your grief, as well.
    God Bless you Bernie. RIP.

  42. RIP Bernie. About the only good that came from covid is it allowed me to work from home and listen to you and Sid for hours rather than just the short time of my commute. Loved your wit and knowledge of all subjects – especially the beat Bernie segment. My condolences to his family ar home and at the station – you will be missed by all
