One of the funniest human beings ever on the face of the earth! Met him at radio station promotion back in 1995 and he could not have been nicer. May God bless him and his family. RIP Cardinal & thanks again for all the thousand of laughs over these years!
Loved Bernard going way back to early Imus radio days.
Loved how he was always his own man. Said what he thought and was never afraid to state his opinion.
He was a man who loved his country and his family.
A man who will be so difficult to replace.
My condolences to his family and all those who loved him. 🙏
Deepest Sympathy to Bernard’s family, friends and co workers at the WABC family.
Will miss him and his intelligence and humor. God Bless.
As a loyal listener to the Imus show and then the Bernie & Sid show, my heart is heavy at the loss of Bernard McGuirk. He was brilliant man and a true professional. From one native New Yorker to another – Rest In Peace Bernie.
Deepest Sympathy to Bernard’s family, friends and co workers at the WABC family.
Will miss him and his intelligence and humor. God Bless.
I have never met Bernie, nor have I ever called into any of his shows but from the very early 2000s to present day I have always welcomed him into my home and office each morning to listen to his program from Imus to the Bernie and Sid.
Bernie kept me informed and entertained, I was impressed with his charisma and intelligence I would even send calls to voicemail so that I could listen to Beat Bernie uninterrupted.
Deep down inside I think we all knew how serious his health condition was, but I still hope and prayed for his Health to return and maybe for selfish reasons I was just hoping to hear him on the airways one more time.
Bernie, the mornings will never be the same without your enlightenment.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, may his light shine brightly upon his family, friends, coworkers, and listener in this time of sorrow.
You will be truly missed
A beautiful tribute to a beautiful and brilliant man
Intelligent, professional, family man, personable and a sense a humor. Will miss you. RIP..
Bernie – You were the fabric of the morning show with your intellect, humor, and sincerity. I have listened to your show since you started with WABC. I watched you many times on Bill O’Reilly where I learned about how intelligent and compassionate you were. Words cannot express how you will be missed. My heart goes out to your beautiful family. Rest in peace my morning friend.
I am devastated. We were lucky to get to know Bernie from all the Imus events. He really was a gentle giant, a genius, talented and the sweetest man. Condolences to his family. He will be truly missed.
Long time fan going back to the early Imus days. You and Charles Mc Cord made Imus in the morning the success it was. You’re comments and antics were hysterical Bernie! I’ll miss listening to you: your wisdom, caring and thoughtfulness was always so apparent. Deepest sympathy and prayers to your wife and children. A talent gone much too soon, RIP Bernie.
Thanks Bernie for the past years of information and fun. You will be missed. May God bless and keep your family.
Bernie and Sid have been a huge part of my life and the only reason I made it through my 1 1/2 hour plus commute everyday for 4 years. Thank you for all of the laughs and all of the knowledge you’ve shared with us through the years. You are truly missed by all of your listeners. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Our deepest condolences to McGuirk family at this time.
Bernie made this world a better place. He was uplifting.
My Mom, recently passed in her 90’s, loved Bernie in his

Morning commutes have not been the same without Bernie. RIP Cardinal O’Connor!
I started listening to the Imus show. The real stars were Bernie, Lou, Charles. And all the rest of the crazies. Now I have been listening to Bernie and Sid everyday. I am so sorry about the passing of Bernie for his family and his radio family. I was so happy Lou Raffino joined the ABC family. Bernie, Sid and Lou were great together. God rest his soul.
Deepest Sympathy to Bernard’s family, friends and co workers at the WABC family.
Will miss him and his intelligence and humor. God Bless.
Bernie was the greatest. Even when he was second fiddle to Imus, he made us laugh and think.
With all going on in the world and country right now, I have said many times in the last month and a half, I would love Bernie’s take.
He clearly was a family man who loved Carol and the kids.
My condolences to them, and Mr. McGuirk.
Bernie was the best! I discovered Bernie and Sid in 2020 and have listened every morning ever since. Bernie made me laugh, got me fired up, and kept me hopeful.
Bernie, I’m going to miss hearing you on the radio every morning. You will be missed by many.
VERY SAD MOMENT THIS AM WHEN CHAD LOPEZ ANNOUNCED THE PASSING OF BELOVED BERNIE. I COMPLETELY PICTURE SID BEING DEVASTATED. WE ALL LOVED TO HEAR BERNIE EVERY MORNING FOR MY REMEMBERANCE OF 40 YEARS. GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY. GOD GIVE THE STRENGTH TO SID TO CARRY ON. IM NOT SURE WHETHER OR NOT BERNIE EVER GOT A MARCONI,BUT HE CERTAINLY DESERVES ONE.
For Bernie from a loyal South Dakota listener:
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
RIP Bernie.
Devastating news this morning. I felt my heart sink. It was as if someone told me a beloved family member died. The show won’t be the same without him. God bless his soul and his family too.
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sunshine warm upon your face.
May the rains fall upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
God Bless You will be missed!
Amen.
I moved to Florida & still listened on line.My condolences to his family & the WABC family great guy
Pit in my heart today. Have been listening to Bernard McGuirk since the Imus days. I’m smiling remembering fondly his classic "Cardinal O’Caoonor Skits" with the Fed-Ex envelope on his head. Was ecstatic when he a Bernie came to WABC & we all got to experience Bernie’s wit and incredibly thoughtful insight.
Deepest condolences to his family! He will be missed.
I’m sad and shedding tears. Goodbye old friend.
May the lord Jesus Christ, take Bernie by the hand and lead him to heaven. May His peace which is beyond all comprehension rest on Bernie’s wife Carrol and his two children. Been hearing Bernie since high school, will miss him each and every day while listening to Sid.
The last man allowed to be halfway funny on radio has died. Bernard would be delighted if he could hear a new generation of clever, funny people like him on the radio again. I hope someone will ask sponsors to be courageous and stand up to the overly-sensitive so we can laugh once more at honest humor that lightens our daily burdens, particularly in the rush hours. I miss Imus (with Rob Bartlett, Bernard, Charles MacCord, Larry Kenney and others), Bob and Ray, Ted Brown, Gene Klavan, The Greaseman, Dr. Demento, Earl Dowd, Larry Glick of WBZ…….and Jean Shepherd.
Thank you, Bernard, for steadying Imus for so long, and giving us Jamal from the Bronx calling Mike and the Mad Dog, Jayson Williams, handing out 40 oz. Millers and Buds outside Grand Central, and for The Cardinal. God bless!
My heart broke for Sid and Bernie’s families this morning. Sending thoughts and prayers to you all. I learned so much from him every morning and he will be so missed.
To Bernie’s family. My prayers are that God holds you in his arms at this most difficult time. Bernie was infectious with his intelligence ,humor and above all his love for his beautiful wife , and family. Let us remember him as a loyal, honest man. but above all his talents on the radio station and TV there was one thing that I admire the most about Bernie ,his true love for our country. Godspeed Bernie.
Bernie was one of the GOATS. Radio Heaven now for him. Condolences to his family and WABC. AM Radio has lost one of its greats. Rest in Peace Bernie. YEHUDIT
I’ve never met you Bernard but have always admired you. Rest In Peace Champ.
I have only been a listener for a few months. In that time I have grown to love ‘the show’ and all of its participants. As I grieve over the loss of Bernie, I also extend my condolences to his family and his extended WABC family. This one hurts.
prayers for the whole McGuirk family. the world lost a warrior today. R.I.P Bernie
My sincere condolences go out to Bernie’s family, and the WABC family. Just as I would look forward to that first aroma of coffee in the morning, I also looked forward to hearing Bernie and Sid to start my day. I found myself missing them on weekends and as much as I dreaded the beginning of a work week, I knew I’d get to listen to Bernie and Sid at 6 a.m. Monday morning. I am praying for all of you, especially Bernie’s family and his best bud, Sid. I am thankful that I had many years of enjoyment, entertainment and enlightenment from the very brilliant Bernie McGuirk. You will be missed.
Bernie was a true gentleman with heart and conviction. I always found comfort in his voice, wisdom and optimism. RIP Bernie! Heartfelt sympathies to his family and radio family. He will be sorely missed.💔

Bernie, you have been and will remain a blessing to all of us who were fortunate enough to get to know you just a little bit through the magic of radio. Though we never met or spoke, you were a part of my morning routine for years and I consider you a friend.
Love and condolences to Carol and the entire McGuirk family.
Godspeed my friend, you will be missed.
I am so sad to hear about the passing of WABC’s Bernard McGuirk at the age of 64. I was a huge fan of Imus In The Morning going back to the mid 70’s so of course was aware of Bernie when he joined the Imus team. He played such a huge role on the Imus show. When Imus retired and Bernie & Sid replaced him, I couldn’t listen. Not sure why. By this time I waS certainly aware of Sid as well. At some point last year (maybe the year before) I decided to start listening to Bernie & Sid via podcast. In the case of WNBC, WFAN and WABC, and my living in Cobourg, Ontario, it wasn’t always easy to hear Imus or B&S. WABC had an added problem in this area in more recent years because of another station (WTOR) in this area at 770 kHz. It was impossible to hear WABC anymore during morning drive. So I got hooked on Bernie & Sid and have followed the progress of Bernie and his illness. I was rooting for him but as time went on without him on the air, I had an uneasy feeling…will Bernie make it? The answer has now been revealed. Sid, you have done such a super job of carrying the show. The fact that you and Bernie took the show to #1, an amazing feat for an AM station in these times. It is totally amazing what John & Margo have done with WABC. What a line-up the station has all through the day and the week! Learning about John Catsimatidis over this time and hearing what a wonderful man he is, I sure wish I could have had a boss like him when I worked in radio. Anyway, I am all over the map here. Lots of feelings, lots of memories. I am glad WABC will be doing a tribute to Bernie. Thank you Bernie! Thinking of his family and the entire WABC family today.
I started listening in 2015.I’m glad you always spoke your mind. You fought a good fight and will be truly missed. The world has lost a bright light. God bless your family.
When I awoke this morning to W77ABC speaking about Bernie in the past tense, I jumped out of bed. 2 seconds later I was crying inconsolably. Bernie & Sid are part of my morning every day. I will miss Bernard very much, and the comradery he had with Sid. It will be very hard to replace him. I will miss his wit, his right wing comments, his intelligence and his insane knowledge of history. Bernie, may you rest in peace, and may your family and friends find comfort and strength to get through this difficult time.
One of the all-time greats. Kept me company over hundreds of mornings through the toughest of times. Thoughts and Prayers.
I’ve been listening to Bernie for years. Brilliant man with a great heart! I was praying he would beat this. My brother is going through the same thing. My heart is broken.
Rest in peace Dear Bernard.
I am saddened to hear this news. Thoughts and Prayers to the McGuirk family. Bernie was one of the best and made my morning every day. Going to miss him being a part of my day! 🙏🙏🙏
Prayers to Bernie and his family
RIP Bernie. You will be missed. My condolences to the WABC family. I started listening to the Bernie & Sid Morning Show in 2020. It was one of the few things that kept me positive that year. For once in my life I actually looked forward to the commute to work, just so I could listen to the show. The mornings will never be the same.
