Iran Protest – Stockholm
(77WABC) — The largest anti-government protests in Iran since 2009 gathered strength on Saturday, spreading to as many as 80 cities.
Dozens of people have been killed and prominent activists and journalists arrested, according to rights groups and news media reports. Internet access — continued to be disrupted or fully blocked.
There are reports of vicious beatings of Iranian security forces and fire bombings of the local headquarters of the notorious morality police by demonstrators angry over the death of a woman who died in police custody after being arrested by morality police for removing her hijab. In many cities — including Tehran — the capital, security forces responded by opening fire on the crowds and sending tear gas into apartment buildings.
