NEW YORK (77WABC) — The MTA holding its last public hearing Friday on congestion pricing.
The agency has received both support and backlash since announcing it plans to move forward with tolling drivers who enter below Manhattan’s 60th Street. New York Governor Kathy Hochul says it’s partly about alleviating pollution, while Staten Island Republican Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis has called the plan “out of touch with reality.”
The toll could cost up to $23 and that money would be used for public transit improvements.
