Russia: Military hardware heads to Moscow’s Red Square for Victory Day Parade
MOSCOW (77WABC) — Google searches for “how to break an arm at home” surged in Russia after President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization of the population to fight in Ukraine.
According to Newsweek, two hours after the announcement, “how to break an arm at home” surged to become the most Googled item on the Russian web. Aviasales, the country’s most popular flight-booking website, also saw a sharp spike in searches.
Putin said conscription would only be applied to reservists, with the decree taking effect on Wednesday. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said 300,000 men with “previous military experience” would be called up.
