NEW YORK (77WABC) — New York City’s coronavirus vaccine mandate for some police officers is no longer valid.
That’s according to a judge’s ruling today. The judge also ordered that members of the PBA who got fired or put on unpaid leave for refusing the shot be reinstated to their positions.
City officials say they are appealing the ruling. Shortly after the judge’s decision, the head of the Uniformed Firefighters Association put out a statement saying he will send a letter to the fire commissioner demanding unvaccinated firefighters who lost work because of the mandate be reinstated.
