In 2007, the U.S. Congress designated September 25 of each year as the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims. The resolution states that this day provides “an opportunity for the people of the United States to honor the memories of murder victims and to recognize the impact on surviving family members.”
New York City Police and all New Yorkers honor murder victims and their surviving family members with a walk throughout New York City on September 25, 2022.
There are starting points for the walk in each of the boroughs at various start times and all paths end at city hall at 3pm. For exact times you can go to the NYPD IG or FB pages.
