NEW YORK (77WABC) — Restaurant owners across the city say the UN General Assembly has been a boon to business.

Thousands of leaders from around the world, and their entourages have descended on Manhattan for the annual gathering. Restaurants and bars, especially on the East side near the UN, and in midtown have been packed since the weekend.

Many owners say it’s the best they have done since pre-pandemic. The State Comptroller’s office says international tourists generally spend four times as much as domestic ones do when they visit New York City.
