Street closures and police officers surround midtown New York, as Biden arrives in New York City Monday, delaying his arrival due to the Queen of England’s funeral Monday in the UK. This will be President Biden’s first speech, to the United Nations General Assembly, as U.S. President. President Biden has a difficult task ahead in this his first address. The majority of Americans would be hard pressed to say that they are confident in the President’s foreign policy. Biden’s foreign policy has been referred to by many as tumultuous, from the withdrawal of forces in Afghanistan to the errant drone strikes there that resulted in the deaths of close to a dozen civilians, and no terrorists.
Biden’s speech tomorrow is a high-profile opportunity for the President to address the battles raging throughout the world and support the democracies herein.
