SACRAMENTO (77WABC) — A new report says California Gov. Gavin Newsom is planning to run for President in 2024 if President Joe Biden chooses not to.
Two individuals with knowledge of Newsom’s plan told The Wrap that he is “undeniably, unequivocally” planning to run for president in 2024 if Biden chooses not to seek a second term.
“After this midterm election is over, he absolutely is going to announce that he is running for the presidency once Biden announces that he is not running,” one source said. “No ifs, ands or buts. He will run if Biden does not.”
In a “60 Minutes” interview, Biden told CBS’ Scott Pelley it’s “much too early” to make a decision and added it’s his intention to run again.
