(77WABC) — The number of migrants flooding the Del Rio area of Texas has doubled since last year — as record numbers of illegals pour across the border under the Biden administration’s open border policy.

According to Fox News, in Eagle Pass, Texas, residents are buying more weapons to defend themselves — as migrants are blamed for killing local pets, stealing from shops, and knocking on doors late at night. Migrant encounters since October 2021 have doubled in Del Rio to over 376,000 migrant encounters.

The town has three official border crossings on its western edge and migrants continue to cross the nearby Rio Grande. Many illegal immigrants drown while crossing the Rio Grande, leading to at-capacity mortuaries and a ‘very traumatic’ recovery process of drowning victims.
